As for what she hopes 50 brings for her, the "High Note" actress talked about her hope to get married and find love. In her words, "I’d love to get married, I’d love to write a book, I’d love to do an action movie, I’d love to keep doing movies."

"I pretended I was married to him longer than I’ve ever been in a relationship… Our co-worker partnership was very special. It didn’t start the way it ended, and I think it’s special I entered one way and left different," she stated.

For the D23 expo, Ross proved that she was indeed a fashion icon, donning a nude ankle-length gown with bedazzled stones all over. She paired the outfit with a pair of sky-high stilettos and styled her hair into a sleek ponytail.

When asked if she ever yearned to have a traditional life with a husband and kids, Ross responded, "Well, how could you not? Our society spoon-feeds it to you. I used to put myself to sleep dreaming of my wedding. And I would still love all of that, but what am I going to do, just sit around waiting? Shut up. I've got so many things to do."

The 'Girlfriends' Alum Never Felt Comfortable In Her Skin

Earlier this year, Ross sat down with InStyle Magazine to discuss her personal evolution to becoming the powerhouse that played the role of Rainbow Johnson in "Black-ish."As reported, the Prism Award nominee got candid about her struggles growing up and finding herself amidst a number of growing pains

The actress shared, "I’m really proud of who I’ve become as a woman that, at 49 years old, I can hold both the grief for what hasn’t happened and also the joy for what is happening. I’m present in my experience with a sense of wholeness I really could not have imagined when I was growing up because I had a lot of discomfort in my skin."

Ross, who embodies herself as happily single, admitted that she didn't get to the state of being comfortable in her skin without facing some pushback from society, especially when it comes to the topic of marriage.

"Culturally, young girls are taught to dream of their wedding and not the life they want to be living or the people they want to become," she confessed. "I was not spared that messaging as a child — not from my mom or my dad, but from the world that we lived in."
