Aoki Lee Simmons Shares Behind The Scenes Process From Casting To Runway!

Aoki Lee Simmons had a full week of casting and runway excitement during New York Fashion Week. The 20-year-old model and Harvard University student took her Instagram followers along for the experience posting Instagram Stories throughout the week that showed the process - from castings to the runway and everything in between.

Simmons posted a carousel of snaps and videos from the Harpers Bazaar Icons Party captioning it, "First time @harpersbazaarus Icons Party and I got to do the carpet! Multiple trips and stumbles but we made it to the end in one piece ??." Supportive comments on the post included, "Love your transparency," "I love you & your “oh crap” face! Looook at youuu A!!! The Harvard University student was real with her followers detailing her entire experience, even the times when things didn't go exactly as planned. From the pouring rain to slipping at rehearsal to not being able to catch an Uber, she told everyone like it was. "We are low on time and I slipped twice at rehearsal so excuse me while I freak out," she wrote on an Instagram Story.

The model also shared a text exchange between her and her model mom, Kimora Lee Simmons, who was clearly a proud mama.

Simmons also posted a carousel of pics and videos of the shows she walked in. The first show she posted on Instagram was for Sergio Hudson. The post was captioned, "Did this happen?! Thank you so much @sergiohudson for including me in your masterpiece of a show. I was the youngest model in your line up last night, surrounded by women I have grown up watching on the runway, feeling completely out of my depth. Your clothes pulled something out of me I didn’t know I had. Thank you for trusting me to do them justice! ?✨ (and keeping your faith in me even when I did a little slip and slide during rehearsal ?)

Simmons mom Kimora commented, "So proud of you my little baby❤️" and "❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️." Designer, Hudson, also commented, "You did it all! you were amazing in casting my dear, so professional and so humble! Never loose that baby girl." A sea of hand claps, flames, and hearts filled the comment section.

Simmons also walked the runway for Tommy Hilfiger's show. She captioned her post, "TOMMY FACTORY BABY!!!! Words cannot express what tonight has meant to me. @tommyhilfiger @thomasjhilfiger I could never express my gratitude enough, forever a #tommygirl ♥️??☔️ Thank you x100 @emperor.lee for this opportunity! I loved this show, my heart is full!!"

The model also reposted a photo @modelsdiscoveri posted of her walking the runway. She added to the bottom of her Story, "this really does feel like the night my career is beginning."

She finished off her exciting evening expressing her gratitude for the experience by writing on a selfie in her Story, "Overwhelmed with gratitude for the blessings today!! I'm so happy. Goodnight guys. More content losting my sh*t with joy tomorrow."
