Khaby Lame has taken over the Internet with 149.4 million followers on TikTok, 79.4 million followers on Instagram, and 4.85 million subscribers on YouTube. And did we mention that he doesn’t utter a single word in any of his videos? According to a recently released report from Forbes on the top creators of 2022, Lame is the most followed TikTok’er in the world, and comes in at number 8 for earnings.
Making More Than One Forbes List
Forbes explained the process for choosing the list, “We evaluated each creator across three categories: earnings, clout and entrepreneurship. Earnings figures are for calendar 2021 and are Forbes estimates. Clout measures not just the sheer number of followers, but also their engagement as indicated by likes, shares and comments. For follower count, we summed followers across platforms. This count includes people who follow creators on multiple platforms. Finally, each creator was given an entrepreneurship rank of between 1 and 3, rewarding people who founded companies, started investment shops or otherwise structured deals in creative—and lucrative—ways.”
Lame is also on the 2022 Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe. He is known for creating comedy skits that mock “life hacks” and he does it all without saying a word. The 22-year-old Sengalese-born creator has signed many deals and partnerships along the way including cryptocurrency exchange Binance, soccer club PSG and Hugo Boss. Forbes estimates that he made $10 million in 2021.
The first video Lame posted on TikTok was on March 15, 2020 and now has 2.2 million views. (We scrolled all the way down to the first video so you wouldn’t have to.)
