Simone Biles Will Be In Paris For 2024 Olympics, But Will She Compete?

Simone Biles is shedding more light on her possible return to the Olympics, but without the certainty of her participation in any of the contests.

With the next event coming up in 2024, the famed athlete spoke on the topic during a sit-down on "The Late Late Show With James Corden" while also touching on the subject of her upcoming wedding.

The show's host, James Corden, wanted to know Biles' intentions at the 2024 Olympics, whether she was in or out, and the likelihood of her competing. She replied:

"I think right now, I still have to heal mentally and physically, so I will be in Paris. I just don't know at what role, if that is an athlete or an audience member, so we'll just have to see."

Corden then recalled a conversation about the idea of the Olympics having a "regular normal person" chosen by every country to participate in a sport, wearing everyday clothes, before the professionals take charge. He believed it would show the world how hard sports was, which Biles agreed to, adding that the viewers were known to judge athletes, so it was a great idea.

Speaking of the Olympics, during the 2021 Tokyo event, the decorated gymnast made the tough decision to drop out of the competition for her safety and mental health. This garnered lots of attention, and later that year, she told ET that she had gotten an "overwhelming amount of love and support of outreach of fans, family."

Biles felt fortunate to remain in her position and have had many people reach out, extending their love and respect to her. She also told the outlet that the gestures shone a "new light on the sport and ourselves as not just an athlete, but as a human."

About a year after her withdrawal from the Tokyo Olympics, The Blast reported that she had an emotional chat with Hoda Kotb, revealing the reason behind her terror of doing gymnastics. The 25-year-old suffered "twisties," causing her not to join the sports event in Tokyo, and while she headlined the Gold Over America Tour alongside other icons, it did not feature any of her mid-air twists.

She attributed the disorienting condition to her mental health issues, which happened while she was in the air. And unfortunately, the struggle lasted past the 2021 Olympics making her scared to do gymnastics. While speaking to Corden, Biles also dished how her wedding plans were coming up, which was all a buzz to her.

She shared, "I have an amazing wedding planner. Bachelor/bachelorette parties are being planned. Everything is on time. I probably am almost too ahead of wedding stuff right now." The seven-time Olympic medalist also revealed that she had tried some of her wedding dresses and other items in Los Angeles, which was "super exciting."

Corden further inquired if she would do any "acrobatics" as she walked down the aisle, but she said "no." This led the presenter to admit that if he had her abilities, he would certainly put on a performance. The 25-time World Championship medalist was not so into the idea as she pointed out that her nails and hair would be done, and there was also the veil.

Biles has been up to a lot, including caring for her mental health and, of course, her imminent wedding. And as The Blast reported, she recently gave fans a hint on what to expect in the color department. Given that there were a few months left till the special day, fans were naturally interested in how the plans were progressing, and luckily, she gave them a chance to ask whatever they wanted on social media.

In no time, one fan asked for a clue about the wedding color theme which the record breaker replied, "gold, white, champagne – timeless, classy, elegant."  Another fan wondered how many kids she and her fiancé wanted, leading her to reveal she wanted just two, but he hoped for three kids. Biles then admitted that she did not like the "oddness." 

She also disclosed that the most difficult part of the wedding was setting a date and getting a location which she believed made every other thing fall into place.
