Michelle Branch knew just the person to lean on during her ongoing divorce proceedings from The Black Keys' Patrick Carney!

The "All You Wanted" singer's plans for 2022 suddenly shifted from touring and promoting an upcoming album to focusing on her personal life.

Last month Branch's marriage suddenly found its way into the spotlight after she discovered her husband of three years had allegedly been cheating on her.

The musician and mother of three was none too happy to find out about Carney's discretions; On August 11th, Branch was arrested after slapping her husband "one to two times" and was charged with domestic assault, according to our report on the matter.

Branch Speaks Out: What Did She Have To Say About Carney's Actions?

The 39-year-old was anything but silent following her arrest in Nashville, Tennessee.

She provided insight into her feelings to TMZ; the outlet had been the first to break the news about the major development in her marriage.

"To say that I am totally devastated doesn't even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family," Branch told the outlet, "The rug has been completely pulled out from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward. With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness," she concluded.

Branch and Carney welcomed a daughter in February of this year.

According to People, the baby girl was named Willie Jacquet Carney, and her first name had been chosen as a homage to Carney's grandmother, Branch explained in the Instagram post she shared to celebrate her bundle of joy's arrival.

Prior to her arrest Branch took to Twitter and revealed details of the situation to her followers in the heat of the moment. She revealed Carney had been unfaithful while she had been at home tending to their daughter, Willie.

According to our report Branch had deleted her tweet not even an hour after it had been posted.

What's Next For The 'Hotel Paper' Songstress?

Branch was soon released on a $1,000 bail following her arrest. She had been released early due to the fact she is breastfeeding, per our report.

We obtained documents surrounding Branch and Carney's divorce, which had been filed in the couple's home state of Tennessee.

In the documents, Branch cited "irreconcilable differences."

The documents had been filed by Branch and further stated, "Wife states that such irreconcilable differences have arisen between the parties that the parties are no longer capable of resuming their marital relationship and living together as Husband and Wife and, therefore, Wife petitions the court for an Absolute Divorce."

Our report further details that the former couple will soon "enter into a Marital Dissolution Agreement regarding their marital estate and an Agreed Permanent Parenting Plan for the care and custody of their minor children."

In addition to their daughter, Carney and Branch also have a son, Rhys James.

Branch is also seeking child support and legal fees from Carney and is looking to have full custody of their children.

Heading Into Healing: How Is Branch Doing?

In the midst of her unexpected divorce Branch is also in the middle of promoting her upcoming LP "The Trouble With Fever."

According to a recent Instagram post, her two-night engagement in Los Angeles later this month is already sold out. She also plans to reschedule a postponed date in Nashville.

Attempting to juggle her professional commitments and processing the events of her personal life that had left her feeling "totally devastated" hasn't always been easy.

Luckily Branch is finding solace in her new album's presence in her life; according to Us Weekly, she opened up about her healing process in an interview with Billboard.

"I think if I didn't have this album coming out," she explained to the outlet, "I would probably be in bed crying all day."

Leaning on a friendly face has also been a healing help!

Branch further detailed that she had found comfort in her friend, fellow Music City staple Kacey Musgraves.

Musgraves endured a public break-up and divorce and had also poured her feelings into recording music. "Star-Crossed," which features multiple tracks alluding to her personal life, was released last year.

"I called her right as this was happening," Branch revealed of Musgraves in Newsweek, "and I was like, f---k Kacey, what should I do? She was like, 'I don't know about you, but I do better when I'm busy. And I was like, 'Oh my god, you're so right. Like, I just need to focus on my work and go on tour. I have young kids, I don't have the luxury of sitting around and wallowing, really," Branch concluded."
