Maitland Ward Got The Cold Shoulder From 'White Chicks' Co-Star Terry Crews For A Very Personal Reason

Maitland Ward and Terry Crews admittedly had a great repertoire when they worked together on White Chicks. Unfortunately, sometime after that film, the actor's careers took different directions leading to an awkward Twitter unfollow.
Maitland Ward’s New Career Is Offensive To Terry Crews
Ward transitioned from regular old acting to adult film acting and she absolutely loves it. She is most notable for playing Rachel McGuire on Boy Meets World and moved on to work alongside Crews on White Chicks before transitioning to adult films full time.
In 2014, Crews shared with the world that he had a pornography addiction and that it nearly ruined his entire life. After a stint in rehab, he started fresh and that meant purging his social media accounts of any trace of triggers.
Ward wrote about her experiences in Hollywood, the Crews' awkwardness, and her foray into the porn industry in her new book; “Rated X: How Porn Liberated Me from Hollywood”.

Maitland Ward Looks At Terry Crews In A Different Way
In her book, Ward writes that after Crews went on a tirade requesting that porn be banned because he was triggered by it, she had a different view of the actor. She can “never see him in the same way again,” even though she knew him to be a lovely man, he was advocating for something that she saw as harmful to women.
After he “called for an end to porn, with no regard of the livelihoods of women who are supporting themselves and their families.” She went on to say that “he is not a protector of women, he is a protector of their virtue.”

Back in the day Crews did make a few harsh statements about the industry. He was just so passionate about how it had affected him and almost ruined his marriage. Ward, however, continues to see it differently in her book.
Maitland Ward's Stance Is Strong Too
The AVN award-winning actress shared with TooFab that she thought Crews’ attempt to go so hard on the industry she calls home was “very weird”.
“This is an industry where women are in power, especially now with OnlyFans, it's something they can make great livings at, they can support their families. They are normal people, like everyone else,” said Ward.
However, because “he has a problem ... it's his problem, it's his deal. He doesn't have to shut down the industry.” In fact, he can just ignore it altogether. While Ward maintains that she sympathizes with Crews for his personal struggles, it doesn’t necessarily give him the right to run a crusade against the adult film industry.
Maitland Ward Isn’t Completely Against Terry Crews
“I absolutely sympathize with someone who has a problem like that, okay, you don't need to watch it or whatever," she notes, "but to try and tear down people's livelihoods and come out so boldly because of it, it's weird, it's dangerous and it's harmful and it's hurting a lot of people.”
On the upside, Crews doesn’t have enough pull to stop millions of viewers from indulging in pornography. “Thankfully, I don't think guys are listening to him,” said Ward. In fact, he swiftly “unfollowed me on Twitter as soon as I started doing that.”
Ward admits she does post explicit photos on her timeline so it could have been specifically for that as opposed to his disdain for porn, but she doesn’t seem to care enough to want to find out.
Ward's book and more of the story will be available Sept. 6.
