'Love Is Blind' Star Iyanna McNeely Opens Up About The Emotional Aftermath Of Her Separation From Jarrette

Breaking up isn't easy, and it can bring on big challenges when the world is watching and giving their unsolicited opinions. "Love Is Blind" star Iyanna McNeely recently found that out firsthand. When the season 2 cast member announced her split from husband Jarrette Jones on Instagram, people openly voiced their thoughts, and some were pretty mean leaving the reality star in tears.
McNeely Opened Up About The Emotions That Followed The Announcement
On the most recent episode of McNeely's podcast, "Feel in the Blank," she explained the emotional aftermath of announcing their separation in mid-August to her co-host Kayla Scott and their guest, Natalie Lee, fellow "Love Is Blind" star. "I should've [done] what Jarrette did and turned off the comments to begin with. But I just couldn't help myself, and by the end of that day, I went to sleep crying," she said. "[People] are so mean. It's making assumptions about people you don't know. And then, still, the annoying part of basing their opinions on our combined screen time of a 10-episode show, and using whatever excuse that is to explain a year-and-a-half relationship. After that day, though, I learned my lesson. I turned off all my notifications and I've been fine ever since."
The Couple Found Out That "Marriage Isn't Easy"
The two met on season 2 of the hit Netflix show, "Love Is Blind" and got engaged. But getting there wasn't always easy. Jones, 32, also had a connection early on with Mallory Zapata, but eventually chose McNeely, 27. Their relationship had some rocky moments and the two were worried about their very different lifestyles not meshing well once they got married, but they ultimately decided to get married.
In a teaser for "Love Is Blind: After the Alter," it appears that things just got tougher for the couple shortly after saying their vows. In the trailer, Jones said, "Marriage is not easy. If anybody tries to tell you it is, that's a lie." He continued by saying, "Is this a mistake that we made? Or, is it something that should be fought for?"
Both Couples Married On The Show Have Now Split
McNeely and Jones weren't the only couple to get married on the show and then split. Two days before McNeely and Jones announced their breakup, costars Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson filed for divorce. Right after all the separation news broke, McNeely and Ruhl were joined by fellow castmates Lee and Deepti Vempati for a fun girls night out. "I went out with the whole crew...this is good. I have friends now, a lot of support," she said about her girls night out. "It's mainly just the criticism that's annoying."
New Seasons Of "Love Is Blind" Coming Soon
