Action movie star, Sylvester Stallone, recently took to Instagram to celebrate his eldest daughter's birthday along with some throwback photos.
The actor, who is well-known for his role in the boxing movie series "Rocky," recently made headlines when his wife of more than 25 years, Jennifer Flavin, filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the breakup.
Since the divorce news began to circulate, Stallone hasn't made much fuzz about it in the media, evidently preferring to keep a low profile and continue with his acting schedule. He did, however, use Instagram to honor his daughter Sophie on her birthday alongside posting pictures that featured his now estranged wife, Flavin.
Sylvester Stallone Shared Throwback Photos
Stallone recently paid tribute to his eldest daughter, Sophie, who turned 26 on August 27. The actor shared on Instagram several photos of his daughter to mark the day, seemingly reminiscing on the moments over the years.
"A VERY HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TO MY VERY SPECIAL DAUGHTER, SOPHIA!!!" he captioned the post.
Most of the pictures sported the actor and his daughter in cute close-up poses from a time when the ongoing divorce did not burden the family. Surprisingly, Stallone also shared some pictures that included his estranged wife, with one appearing to have been taken during a Christmas celebration.
It's unclear if the "Creed" actor was trying to pass a message by posting the pictures that featured Flavin to prove further that they were on good terms despite the split. The actor had previously shared in an announcement after the divorce would not hamper his love for his family.
"I love my family. We are amicably and privately addressing these personal issues," per People.
Jennifer Flavin Filed For Divorce
Earlier in the week, Flavin filed for divorce from Stallone at a court in Palm Beach County, Florida. The actress and entrepreneur subsequently informed People about the ongoing proceedings while asking for privacy for the family.
She said, "I'm sad to announce that after 25 years of marriage, I have filed for divorce from my husband, Sylvester Stallone. While we will no longer be married, I will always cherish the more than 30-year relationship that we shared, and I know we are both committed to our beautiful daughters. I ask for privacy for our family as we amicably move forward."
Stallone and Flavin married in 1997 after dating for many years. Apart from Sophie, the pair share two other daughters: Scarlet, 20, and Sistine, 24. The actor also shares a son Seargeoh from his previous marriage to Sasha Czack.
Jennifer Flavin Accused Sylvester Stallone Of Depleting The Family's Asset
While both Flavin and Stallone claimed that they were "amicably" dissolving their marriage, court documents obtained by People showed that the actress was seeking a more significant part of the family assets.
In her filing, she accused her estranged husband of engaging "in the intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets which has had an adverse economic impact on the marital estate." She further claimed on those grounds that she should "be compensated and made whole by receiving an unequal distribution of the marital assets in her favor."
The filing further asked the court to prevent Stallone from making any further transactions involving the family assets until a decision on the divorce is made in court.
"The Husband should be enjoined from, selling, transferring, assigning, encumbering, or dissipating any assets during the pendency of these proceedings," the docs read.
Sylvester Stallone's Latest Features
In the meantime, Stallone is yet to address the claims in the filing and has carried on with his career schedule. On Thursday, the actor attended a screening of his latest movie, "Samaritan," at the AMC Empire 25 cinema, New York.
Per Daily Mail, Stallone sported a navy-blue suit over a black shirt and dark shoes. He appeared to be in high spirits despite his ongoing personal issues as he was seen shaking hands with several attendees who were seated to watch the film.
Stallone is also set to appear in a Paramount+ series, "Tulsa King," scheduled to debut in November. He portrays Dwight "The General" Manfredi, a high-ranking mafioso who just finished a jail stint and is forced back to work for a criminal enterprise.
