Christine, a former Mormon believer, did not grow up with monogamist ideals as her religion did not frown on a man having multiple partners. Her faith may have played a significant part in the "Intermittent Fasting" author's desire for a polygamous relationship. Nonetheless, the TV personality wanted to be a third wife for other reasons.

According to the entertainer, the first wife's position was too stressful because it involved carrying out all of the man's responsibilities. Similarly, the second wife came with too much work. In Christine's words:

"Then with the second one, it always seemed like there was a lot of hard times and change, so I'm like, 'No, don't sign me up for that.' Number three just coasts right in the middle. Easy."

The TV personality's dream of living a stress-free life as a third wife came true in 1994 when she spiritually married Kody and joined the polygamous Brown family. The then-couple moved to Lovell in Wyoming, joining the patriarch's other two wives, Meri and Janelle. Kody's fourth wife, Robyn, became a member of the family later.

Christine may have pursued a polygamous relationship for ease, but her marriage came with a few benefits, such as her six wonderful children and a contract with TLC. In 2010, the network began airing "Sister Wives," a famous show about the ups and downs of the Brown family. However, fame did not stop the 50-year-old from prioritizing herself when her marriage crashed.

The "Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of an Unconventional Marriage" co-author confessed to the news outlet that she genuinely believed in plural marriages and wished to live that way. But things changed in 2021 when the TV personality experienced a change of heart. After more than 20 years of living with Kody and his other wives, Christine walked out to search for happiness.

The 50-year-old not only divorced her husband but also abandoned her Mormon faith. Following this decision, the TLC alum rediscovered her freedom. "As soon as I had the car loaded up and drove down the street, I felt free," she gushed, adding, "It was exciting and new and so scary because I had no idea what to expect."

Despite her fear of the unknown, the "Hand Raised: The Barns of Montana" author added that she felt hopeful for the first time in a long time. The mother-of-six also regained her independence and self-confidence. Following her separation from Kody, Christine moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, with her 12-year-old daughter Truely. Since their relocation, the pair have settled into their new lives.

Fortunately, the 50-year-old did not have to worry about losing her reality TV platform as the entertainer stars on TLC's digital series, "Cooking with Just Christine.

The Food Blogger Claimed That Leaving Polygamous Marriage Made Her Happier

The Blast previously reported that Christine's single life brought more happiness for the TV personality. The 50-year-old announced the good news with claims of being a new person. According to the TLC star, walking away from her ex-husband positively changed her life as every part of her body, including her cells, radiated happiness.

Despite being spiritually tied to Kody for 26 years, Christine eventually realized she did not wish to share a man with three other women. In the future, the food blogger wished to have a monogamous relationship with a man who would cherish her as his one and only lover.

Although the entertainer expressed interest in a new relationship, she could not jump back into the dating pool because of her youngest daughter. The proud mother of six wonderful children, who she co-parents with her ex-husband, revealed that Truely did not want anyone intruding on their new lives in Salt Lake City.

Until she receives the 12-year-old's approval, Christine stated she would continue to enjoy her single life while being the best mom her children could ever want.
