Madonna passed her musical talents down to her daughter, Lourdes Leon, who just dropped her debut single "Lock&Key" under the stage name Lolahol. Leon, 25, released the song and music video with the record label Chemical X, which is owned and operated by Eartheater, who is also the co-producer of the new single along with Samuel Burgess and Hara Kiri.

Leon's Video is Hectic With Pink And Dark Vibes

The song features synthetic tones and smooth, airy vocals in an electronica style. A clip of the video can be seen on Leon's Instagram page or see the video in its entirety on YouTube. The music video is busy with a lot going on. Viewers see a heart shaped locket, Leon walking a dog down a street with cars speeding by, an SUV with a coffin on top, and Leon doing a perfect split on the beach. The video is not only pink themed, but also has a dark vibe.

When asked by Interview magazine last October what her favorite musical genre is, Leon responded, "I've always been a big house and techno person, ever since I was young." At that point in her life, Leon wasn't interested in singing, even though she clearly has that talent. "As for music, I can sing. I just don't care about it. Maybe it's too close to home," she said.

Leon Is Multi-Talented

Leon, whose father is Cuban-born dancer and fitness trainer Carlos Leon, told Interview she was more drawn to dancing than singing. "I dance, I have a very specific sense of style, and I'm interested in aesthetics, so I like to incorporate all those parts of myself into my projects," she said.

When asked about her future goals, Leon said she didn't have a specific goal, but probably should. "Financially, modeling is a smart decision. I enjoy being very hands on with the campaigns I do, so that I'm not just modeling, per se," she explained. "I don't know how I feel about acting yet. I think it's about finding a role that wouldn't be too far off from who I am already."

Madonna Is Proud Of Her Talented Daughter

Of course, mom Madonna is proud of her daughter. During an interview with British Vogue in 2019, she talked about her daughter's talents. "I'm green with envy because she's incredible at everything she does - she's an incredible dancer, she's a great actress, she plays the piano beautifully, she's way better than me in the talent department."

When asked what Madonna thinks of Leon stepping in the industry, Leon said, "She's very much like, 'Proceed with caution and think about what you want to be known for.' I've thought a lot about that recently, because as a 'model,' you're basically relying on your looks. It can feel very overwhelming and can potentially cause a lot of insecurity." She went on to explain, "My mom is very insistent on making me think about what I want to be known for beyond my looks. That's not what I want people to remember me by. It's not real."

Will There Be More Music By Leon?

"Lock&Key" isn't Leon's first musical accomplishment. She worked with her mom on "Superstar" from Madonna's "MDNA" 2012 album. There's no word yet on if Leon will be releasing any other songs.
