'AGT' Simon Cowell Wants To Have THIS Special Guest At Wedding To Lauren Silverman

Simon Cowell and his fiancée Lauren Silverman are prepping for their big day!

Like most parts of their relationship, the couple has kept their plans towards tying the knot, including the official date, under wraps. However, that has not stopped people from wondering just how involved 45-year-old Cowell is with the preparations. The reality show judge got engaged to the mother of his first child, Eric, on Christmas Eve, 2021, after many years of their controversial love affair. 

Although the full details of their wedding plans remain relatively unknown, Cowell had no problems spilling some tea to ET's Denny Directo during a catch-up session on the "America's Got Talent" red carpet on Tuesday. 

After joking that he was "always wedding planning," the 62-year-old admitted that his involvement in the wedding planning process was limited. He was, instead, letting his soon-to-be bride have whatever popped into her head. Despite his lack of involvement in the planning, Cowell had one wish to see manifest at the wedding. He mentioned that it would be "a puppy!" — he would not even mind getting a puppy to be a ring-bearer. 

Whether that would happen remains to be seen as we are still drooling after the details of "The X Factor" judge and Silverman's engagement. The Blast reported that Cowell popped the question in Barbados, where the couple's romance initially ignited. The record executive ensured that he took his longtime love on a romantic walk down the beach, where he went on bended knee and asked the socialite to be his "forever love."

What made the moment even sweeter was the presence of their eight-year-old son, Eric, and Silverman's oldest child, Adam, from her first marriage. In fact, Eric had a hand in planning his parent's engagement as his dad disclosed that the little boy "coached" him ahead of the big event.

Speaking on the proposal, an insider told news outlets that the lovebirds could not be happier with their new relationship status. The source said, "They are both super happy. They've been together a long time now and adore each other, so it's not a huge surprise to their close friends."

Soon after the news of the couple's engagement broke, Hollywood Life ran through their relationship timeline from when they first met till now. The news outlet noted that Cowell and Lauren met in 2004 at Barbados' Sandy Lane resort, where the New York socialite was vacationing with her then-husband, Andrew Silverman. 

Although it was love at first sight for Cowell, he continued to date other women, including entertainment journalist Terri Seymour and makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy, to whom he was engaged from 2010 to 2011. Lauren and the TV personality eventually began dating each other even though the former was still married to her real estate mogul husband.

They managed to keep the scandalous relationship under wraps until Lauren became pregnant in 2013, causing the couple to admit to their affair. Following the public admittance of the relationship, Andrew filed for an at-fault divorce, citing adultery. The divorce was finalized out of court in November of that year with a strict stipulation that Cowell stays away from Adam or faces a penalty of $50,000.

By February 14, 2014, Lauren and Cowell became parents, with the latter claiming that fatherhood had changed him for the better. He loves his fatherly role so much that he cannot imagine life with his son and would not mind having more kids with his wife-to-be. The family of three managed to get even closer during the COVID-19 quarantine in 2020, with the Syco founder stating:

"COVID-19 was the real test. Like everyone, we were in lockdown for a long time, and that's when you realize whether or not you actually enjoy each other's company or not. And we really really did. The romance is still alive. We're closer than ever."
