Cannon still has much love for Carey and seems to have the door open for her, hoping they might rekindle their romance someday.

"I guess because I'm a true romantic, I'm a true believer in love, and I allow the capsules of love to be where they lie. I'm not a timeline dude," he told Youtuber Tee. "I will never have a love as I had with Mariah."

"It was like a fairytale with Mariah, so I would rather it just be that way. I appreciate that fantasy because if I tried to go back and it wasn't the same, I'd be like, 'Damn, I messed it up.' He continued, adding that if he "had the opportunity, if it could be the way it was, I'm there."

Cannon also finished the sentiments by lightheartedly referencing several of her hit singles, "Always be my baby! Don't forget about us! We belong together!"

Cannon's comments about Carey came on the heels of the release of his solo song, "Alone," which appeared to be a love song meant for his ex-wife. It also included a clip of her 1990 single, "Love Takes Time."

"I say I'm cool when I know I miss it / I'd trade it all for the case / If I could have you back / If I could go back to where we started," he began.

Cannon also seemed to hint at reconciliation but suggested she deserved better considering his constant baby drama.

"As much as I want you back / It's probably better where you at / 'Cause I'm still running the streets / I'm still all in the sheets / Having babies / Models and singers and actresses saying they pregnant by me," he continued.
