Harry Styles is opening up about his future like never before! The English singer, who is at the peak of his career and currently touring, is discussing the prospects of slowing down and possibly having a family.
Styles is currently romantically linked to actress Olivia Wilde, who shares two kids with her ex-partner Jason Sudeikis. While the lovebirds haven't taken their relationship to the next level, Styles' recent revelation makes it a possibility.
Harry Styles Plans To Raise His Kids This Way
In his August Rolling Stone Magazine cover, Styles, whose music career started as a teenager, revealed that he was thinking of taking some meaningful time away from the bustle of the entertainment industry to be more present to his loved ones.
While on the subject of being there for his family and friends, the 28-year-old noted that his idea of what true love means has evolved. "What I value the most from my friends is I feel like I’m constantly reminded that it’s OK to be flawed. I think I’m pretty messy and make mistakes sometimes. I think that’s the most loving thing: You can see someone’s imperfections, and it’s not [that you] love them in spite of that, but it’s [that you] love them with that," he explained.
While discussing the topic of love, Styles admitted that he is very open to the idea of having kids. In his words, "Well, if I have kids at some point, I will encourage them to be themselves and be vulnerable and share."
Styles admitted in the past couple of years, he has been more committed to going to therapy. He explained, "I committed to doing it once a week. I felt like I exercise every day and take care of my body, so why wouldn’t I do that with my mind?"
The 'Adore You' Singer Talks Roe v. Wade
However, before the world sees a mini Harry, the "Watermelon Sugar" singer hopes to make a mark on politics by not staying silent on cogent social topics like race. As he grew more popular, Styles, who was usually oblivious to things that didn't affect him, decided he needed to do better.
He explained, "I took a massive look at myself, and was like, ‘Oh, I don’t do enough . . . or anything.'" Styles kickstarted the journey to becoming better in 2020 with the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement, taking out to the streets to join the protests.
He also began reading books to educate him on racial and gender equality, such as "How to Be an Anti-Racist," by Ibram X. Kendi and "The Will to Change" by bell hooks. "Pretending as a white person you don’t get a head start just isn’t true," he declared.
Styles also touched on the overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court in June. "I can’t begin to imagine how terrifying it is to be a woman in America at the moment," he commented.
At the time of the overturn, the Redditch native was one of the few celebrities that commented on the atrocity of the decision. In an Instagram Story update, the Grammy Award winner wrote, "I'm absolutely devastated for the people of America today. Check on your friends. Look after each other. We're all in this together, and the fight is just beginning. A truly dark day for America."
