What was supposed to be a peaceful day at a holiday inn with his eldest son, Trey, turned into a nightmare for "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" star. The rapper-turned-actor's weekend got interrupted by the appearance of a giant black spider. Much to the 53-year-old's horror, the arachnid leisurely crawled into his home.

If this had occurred in a movie, Smith would have bravely faced the beast with a powerful weapon and catchy theme song. However, the father-of-three did not react coolly to the home invader. The "Men In Black" actor, who recently returned to Instagram, shared a video of his hilarious face-off with the spider. The clip began with the Philadelphia native's shock at seeing the tarantula.

As he filmed the black creature crawling on the floor, the Grammy winner repeatedly shouted "What the whole hell?" at the critter. When the "Gettin' Jiggy wit It" rapper described the arachnid as a "big ass," Trey pointed out that giant spiders were called tarantulas.

Naturally, the actor did not care for the creature's name but its immediate removal from his home. Turning the camera to himself, Smith revealed that he addressed the situation from the safety of a chair. Still standing up on the furniture, the "Focus" actor turned to his son, who confidently stayed on the ground and implored him to get rid of the spider.

"Alright, Trey, you got to get that out of here," the 53-year-old said before turning the camera to show his son's dumbfounded expression. "Come on; you're young and strong. You can handle a bite," the entertainer begged. The oldest of his three children continued to stare at the Hollywood icon in disbelief, perhaps shocked that his father would sacrifice him to save himself.

Nonetheless, the 29-year-old came to the TV personality's rescue by trapping the tarantula under a glass cup. This brilliant idea elicited screams of joy from the "Hancock" actor. Once the black spider was confined under the glass, the "Summertime" artist finally regained his courage. Smith got down from his chair to assist his son in discarding the critter.

In between screams, the Philadelphia native managed to stick a piece of paper underneath the cup. This allowed the entertainer to lift the creature for a closer look safely. As Trey filmed the "King Richard" star holding the spider, both father and son agreed that the tarantula was the biggest they had ever seen.

However, the César Award honoree did not wish for a second critter experience as he concluded the video by declaring to sell the house. This decision might be feasible in the foreseeable future, as Smith noted in the caption that he posed the video from a "Holiday Inn."

The hilarious clip received over 11,000 comments, including from the "Red Table Talk" account run by the TV personality's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, and her mother, Adrienne "Gammy" Banfield-Norris. Celebrities like the film producer Brad Haugen, the actress Naomi Scott, singer Taral Hicks, and rapper Adym Evans also left playful comments on the "Aladdin" actor's post. Meanwhile, fans happily celebrated Smith's social media comeback.

The AMA Winner Teased His Return To Social Media After Oscar Drama

Following his actions against Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, The Blast reported that Smith took a social media break until his surprise return on August 19. The "Shark Tale" star shared a video captioned "Me trying to get back on social media" on Instagram. In which a baby gorilla nervously poked the back of an adult gorilla.

The smaller creature kept poking the larger one and running away until the grown-up gorilla angrily chased the baby. In context, Smith was the child and social media the adult. However, the Tony Award nominee had nothing to fear as fans assured the actor that they missed him and approved his return to social media.
