Actress Kaley Cuoco is getting candid about the aftermath of her divorce from Karl Cook, which she considers one of the darkest times of her life.

Cuoco and Cook announced their separation last year after being together for three years. They shared in a heartfelt statement at the time that, while they had a deep love for each other, they would have to go in opposite directions due to their current paths.

Following the divorce, she revealed that she was forced to stage an intervention on herself while filming season two of her show, "The Flight Attendant." This intervention was to help her deal with the "super dark" times she experienced following the divorce.

In an interview with Variety, the "Big Bang Theory" star disclosed that she had a rough time during her divorce from her last husband, Cook, whom she separated from last year. She even had to stage an intervention to deal with the emotional aftermath.

"Going through my divorce, it was really a super dark time," Cuoco told the magazine. "I just didn't know how to deal with it."

At the time, she threw herself into shooting the second season of "The Flight Attendant" but realized it was all for naught because her character was assailed with obstacles.

"I was throwing myself into work to deny my depression and how upset I was. Unfortunately, the character was so depressed that it wasn't helping me! I was really, really, really struggling. A lot of tears." According to the star, moving in with her co-star and best friend, Zosia Mamet, helped ease her a little.

"I really needed someone with me. I was really losing my mind. And then so many of these scenes were so hard to do because they were so hateful, so sad, and so dark, and there wasn't much fun," Cuoco explained. "It was the loneliest I've ever felt, and I am not someone to share that."

Cuoco also revealed that she had to stage an intervention for herself while working on the show.

"One month in, I had an intervention on myself in my trailer — all my producers were in there," Cuoco shared with the magazine. "I said, 'I need help.' It was interesting to say that out loud."

She admitted, "And to have everyone be like, 'Yes, we want to help!' I'm a working woman, so independent, and I take pride in being able to do everything. Well, this time, I literally couldn't."

Shortly after, she turned to therapy to help her through this rough patch.

"It was the first time I started therapy — I've been very open about that. I started at the beginning of season 2 of "The Flight Attendant," just because I was going through so much right before we started shooting. It was horrible," she recalled.

After being together for three years, Cuoco and Cook announced the news of their split via a statement in 2021. "Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions.

We have both shared so much of our journey publicly, so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together. There is no anger or hate, quite the contrary," they shared at the time.

She concluded, per Fox, "We have made this decision together through an immense amount of respect and consideration for one another and request that you do the same in understanding that we will not be sharing any additional details or commenting further."

Before she married Cook, she was married to tennis professional Ryan Sweeting.

In April, the actress shared in an interview with Glamour her intentions to not get married again.

"I would love to have a long-lasting relationship or a partnership. But I will never get married again," Cuoco added. "Absolutely not. You can literally put that on the cover."

The star might never get married again, but that hasn't stopped her from being in a romantic relationship.

Last month, she confirmed her relationship with the "Ozark" star Tom Pelphrey. She shared a series of loved-up pictures of the pair on Instagram, including a montage of them on a getaway together and a cute snap of Pelphrey kissing her on the cheek.

"Life lately 'the sun breaks through the clouds, rays of gold slipping into my eyes and heart, rays of yellow to break the grey," she captioned.
