During the WrestleMania 39 Launch Party at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA on August 11th, the WWE was out in full force to get the word out that tickets for WrestleMania 39 were on sale. Along with fans able to meet WWE Superstars, see Snoop Dogg and JoJo Siwa, buy merchandise and watch a few matches on the field of SoFi Stadium, The Blast was able to talk EXCLUSIVELY with a few WWE Superstars about everything WWE, and even a little more. One of the WWE Superstars we talked with was Dominik Mysterio, son of the legendary Rey Mysterio Jr. Dominik, who is only 25 has been in the world of wrestling and involved in wrestling storylines for years which had us interested to ask about some backstage memories he will never forget while he was a young kid being surrounded by so many of WWE's elite and memorable characters.

He surprised us as he spoke to us about the warm exteriorthat the larger than life wrestlers have and show backstage that is completely different from their TV personas mentioning, "I think just the kindness that everyone in the locker room treated me with in the back as a kid, from stealing the BWO tricycles to making tape balls with Edge and pegging people with them, just little things like that I remember of just wrestlers taking their time to hang out with me and spend their time with me and acknowledge me, it was really cool and it stood out to me as a kid."

And now that we have since seen Dominik in the ring excelling day in and day out, we had to find out also if he ever talked about meeting any of the WWE Superstars he played with backstage in the ring once he got older and became a WWE Superstar himself as he continued, "No, but The Miz would always come up to me a pick on me and always say, 'I am your favorite wrestler!' 'Who is your favorite wrestler? It's me!' And I would always come back to him and say, 'You're not my favorite!' So I think it is funny that I was able to wrestle him last year at WrestleMania, that was like a full circle moment."

Now for future WrestleMania opponents, we will get to that shortly as Dominik was eager to also talk about what he does backstage and away from the WWE ring, that still includes wrestling.

An avid gamer, Dominik also appears in the WWE 2K22 video game and of course he had to play as himself, but it took a little time for him to actually achieve that since he told us, "So, funny story. As soon as 2K came out. 2K22. I was like, 'I have to play as myself.' I am a huge kid and I am in a video game, so why not! But the process you have to go through to unlock me, it is a story. So I thought I would beat all these matches real quick and unlock myself. I spent an hour or so beating all these matches, but little did I know I had to do all the objectives so I had to go back and do it all over again. So it took some work, but I ended up unlocking myself and had some fun."

But the fun for us is watching him in the ring and we needed to get his feelings on if he ever wanted to wear a mask and he is completely on board, "Oh I would love to wear a mask but things happen so fast that we didn't have time to put the mask on me. Everything was here you go, you are wrestling Seth Rollins and I was like, 'Cool, let's roll with it.' But the mask was definitely in talks but once my Dad approves that, it is all on him. But tradition says, he has to hand it down."

Maybe a future match with his father for the mask? Not so fast...

Who Does Dominik Mysterio Not Want To Wrestle In The Future?

Dominik wants to be at next year's WrestleMania and everyone has a dream match to be involved in and we thought it would be a no brainer that Dominik would love to challenge his father but he doesn't feel that way at all, "Me personally I wouldn't want to go against him just because I know early on in my career I was like, 'It would be cool' But I have rode with him and he has been my tag team partner, he has helped me so much in so little that I have done in my career. I think that being against him would not be a good idea because he is one of the best to ever do it and the advice he has given me and being beside me during matches, little things like that have made me so much better as a performer, and I can soak in all the information he gives me because obviously he has been around so long and for a while for a reason, so I try to take in as much of that as I can so I don't see myself fighting him at the upcoming WrestleMania."

Though we might never be able to see that match either ever or at WrestleMania, he does want to fall into his father's footsteps when it comes to more skin art and tattoos as he told us, "I don't think I am finished, having my Dad around and seeing him covered in tattoos is so cool to me. Once I became an adult and got a chance to get tattoos myself, I definitely jumped on the first opportunity."

With several months until WrestleMania comes around, maybe things will change for Dominik. Whether they are together or against each other, we will be watching along with you all. The future that Dominik Mysterio is building for himself is looking to be a great legacy to uphold.

And as we watch that legacy grow, the two-night WrestleMania takes place on April 1 and 2, 2023, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Make sure to get your tickets now!
