"I know, baby," the former Miss Arkansas reassured him, adding, "God knows what we need, and God decided you needed another baby brother because you're such a good big brother to Amesy."

The Couple Got Married In 2017

The Dan+Shay singer married Hannah in 2017, a year after he proposed to her. The wedding ceremony took place on his parent's farm in Arkansas, and the honeymoon was in Cancun, Mexico.

In an interview with ET, Mooney shared that he picked up several wedding planning lessons from his bandmate, Dan Smyers, whose wedding was five months before his.

"I watched Dan go through [wedding planning], you know. He kind of let Abby take the reins, and that's exactly what I'm doing," Mooney said. "I feel it's always smart to let your ladies take the reins!"

He concluded, "I'm definitely in the background, but if she wants my input, I'll say something, act like I'm wise about it. 'Oh, I think that color of beige is nice.'"

They Welcomed Their First Child In The Same Year

Two years later, they disclosed that they were expecting another boy, Ames Alexander, born in 2020.

Ahead of Ames' arrival, Mooney told ET that he was " a little more educated" than he was when his first son was born.

"The first time was just kind of 'hold on to your seat and see what happens and learn as you go,' but this time I know what I'm doing a little bit more," he said. "I know how to change a diaper -- I'm one of the best in the world."

He also released a song in 2017 which explored his experience of becoming a dad. He opened up to People about the meaning of his lyrics.

"It's a message of gratitude and hope. A message to everyone in our lives: our fans, our friends, our families, to remind them all how grateful we are to be on the planet simultaneously," they wrote.

"It's truly remarkable when you think about it. Like many others, we've spent most of the past year searching for answers and a sense of normalcy, but finding comfort in memories of better days (that we all know will return soon)."
