John Travolta Breaks Silence On Olivia Newton-John's Death

"Grease" star John Travolta is paying tribute to his late costar, Olivia Newton-John.
As The Blast previously reported, the actress famously known for playing the character Sandy in the 1978 film “Grease” died at the age of 73 on Monday, August 8, 2022.
John Travolta Says Olivia Newton-John 'Made All Of Our Lives So Much Better'
In a brief Instagram statement, the 68-year-old actor paid tribute to his late costar, writing, "My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much."
"We will see you down the road and we will all be together again," he continued. "Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!"
In the 1978 movie "Grease," directed by Randal Kleiser, they played lovebirds Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson, polar opposites brought together by destiny in the summer of 1958.
Actor Mario Lopez was one of the first to comment on the post with three red heart emojis. Plenty of fans also weighed in with their memories of Olivia as Sandy. “As a child and still now I love musicals and till this day Grease is my #1 fav,” one fan wrote. “RIP to a true legend 😭🙏🏼🤍.”
“That brought tears to my eyes. Grease was on yesterday. ❤️❤️❤️,” another fan commented. “So sweet and kind words!! a beautiful friendship ❤️,” another follower remarked. “We love you both forever and ever😍,” a third fan wrote. “Beautiful words for a beautiful lady ❤️,” said another fan.
Olivia Newton-John Lost Her Long Battle To Metastatic Breast Cancer
According to recent reports, her husband, John Easterling, said that the “If Not For You” singer passed away at her ranch in Southern California Monday morning, surrounded by family and friends.
Olivia had been battling breast cancer for over thirty years. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, but it went into remission. Unfortunately, it came back in 2013 and then again in 2017.
Although a specific cause of death has not been disclosed by her reps, a source close to the 73-year-old singer told the outlet, "After a 30-year cancer journey, she lost her battle to metastatic breast cancer."
Olivia is survived by her one daughter from her first marriage to former actor and dancer Matt Lattanzi.

"Star Trek" actor George Takei was one of the first to pay tribute to the late singer and actress. He tweeted, "We have lost a great, iconic artist in Olivia Newton-John, gone too soon from us at age 73. I trust she is now in the great Xanadu beyond.
