Britney Spears Fans Concerned Over Her Cryptic Sam Asghari Comment

Is everything okay between Britney Spears and Sam Asghari?

The two met on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video in 2016 and started dating soon after. The Iranian actor stayed by her side through her stifling conservatorship and popped the question in September 2021. Two months later, the "Overprotected" singer was finally freed from her conservatorship, and the two tied the knot in the backyard of her L.A. mansion in June.

Although the two should be as happy as two newlyweds can be right now, Britney's latest Instagram post has a lot of fans scratching their heads.

In an Instagram post shared with her followers on Saturday afternoon, Britney posted three photos, including one of her leaning back against Sam, who has his hands around her waist. Sam, especially, looks a lot younger in this photo, but Britney didn't say when or where it was taken.

This caption was a bit shorter than Britney's usual captions. She wrote: "My husband … ????? I love building a life with you … you’re the love of my life … and I just pray we don’t kill each other before the end of the year !!!! ???."

It may be a joke between them, but apparently, something got lost in translation. Many fans took to the comments to express their confusion, including one follower who wrote, “Huh??? ???.”

Britney also included two more photos of them together. It looks like Britney totally ditched her make-up and wore a sweeping updo as she posed with her arms around Sam’s neck. Sam has his arms around her and is smiling broadly for the camera, looking as happy as he can be.

“Stop that caption dead in its tracks ?,” one follower commented. Another fan echoed, “I thought it was strange as well.” Another user agreed, “it’s eerie ?.” A fourth fan said, “I agree! It’s almost as if she is trying to hint us something.”

“? I agree ? something is not right ?,” another fan commented. Although some people thought that she was “clearly joking,” based on the fun photos she shared with the post, others weren’t so sure.

In the last photo Britney shared, the two have their arms wrapped around each other and are about to touch tongues. It looks like a couple in love, but some fans think that the “Lucky” singer is trying to hint that something is amiss with her caption.

“This caption is giving me bad vibes,” one fan commented, which launched a major discussion about whether or not Britney is really as free as she seems to be. “ikr…” one fan replied. “I just can’t explain it.”

“nahh. No marriage is perfect,” one user argued. “There are days I want to rip my husband's head off. And vice versa. ?.”

“no I agree with you on this. And he looks a bit different unless there’s a major filter on,” another fan wrote. “I’m very concerned overall for Ms. S….still. I hope she’s really ok.”

“There’s something not OK about their marriage,” another follower wrote.

The concern continued, with one fan writing, “Ik she’s joking bout the killing part but I really do worry about this [relationship]. I don’t trust him, I did at the beginning but now I don’t.” A lot of fans commented with “samesies.”

“most likely it is a call for help not a joke , normally it would be taken as a joke, but knowing her past in trying to cry for help thru messages it seems clear shes in danger,” one fan alleged.

“What changed?” one user asked. “the way her posts keep getting more and more odd, he’s in the new house and she’s not, they’re rarely together,” OP replied. Another fan pointed out that Sam has done a lot of interviews without Britney, but they have yet to do one together.
