Jamie Campbell Bower is opening up about his struggles with addiction and mental illness!

The English actor, who took the world by storm with his sensational performance as Vecna, the intense and terrifying antagonist in the fourth season of "Stranger Things," recently achieved a sobriety milestone.

The 33-year-old not only shared details about the darkest period of his life but also penned a powerful message to anyone going through similar situations, encouraging them to overcome their addictions.

On Wednesday, July 27, the Hollywood heartthrob shared candid messages about his previous battles with substance abuse on Twitter, addressing the numerous issues he endured before embarking on the sobriety journey that changed his life.

The Netflix star explained that he went down a path of "active addiction" over ten years ago, destroying his life and bringing pain to everyone around him, especially his loved ones.

"It got so bad that eventually, I ended up in a hospital for mental health," Bower confessed, noting that he finally got the push he needed to attain a clean life after this tragic incident.

The 33-year-old proudly stated that he had achieved "7 1/2 years" of sobriety and expressed how thankful he was to be free of the addictions that once plagued his life.

This message of gratitude came in a follow-up (tweet) where the England native reassured anyone struggling with similar problems that no matter how dim the world looked, their futures remained bright.

"But each day is a chance to start again. Atone for mistakes and grow," the Counterfeit band's ex-frontman wrote, "for anyone who wakes up thinking 'oh god not again,' I promise you there’s a way."

Using himself as an example, "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones" actor encouraged people never to give up as they could achieve the same happiness he found as a sober man.

Bower concluded his powerful message by reminding fans not to pressure themselves for fast results as humans were "all works in progress."

The "Shadowhunters" star's emotional post touched the hearts of his admirers and fellow sobriety lovers, who responded positively by dropping over 186k likes while thousands retweeted the actor's message.

Many people expressed how "proud" they were of the blonde heartthrob for sharing his inspirational piece, and some social media users also shared their addiction stories. 

As shared by Yahoo, Nat Travis, from the charity Turning Point, echoed similar sentiments to BBC about the positive impact of the "Run On" singer's post.

According to the humanitarian, the TV personality's revelation would help other individuals to understand that addictions could happen to anybody.

Bower's story would make it a "little bit less scary and easier" for people with these problems to take the first step necessary to begin their healing journey.

Being brave enough to share his past was not the only reason why the entertainer's words resonated with thousands across the world, as the English actor's reputation was also a factor.

The guitarist caught the eye of millions with his good looks and impressive vocals after making his big screen debut in the 2007 musical "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street."

The Teen Choice Award nominee also appeared in the Twilight movies and made two appearances as young Gellert Grindelwald in J.K Rowling's hit movies, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1" and  Fantastic Beats: The Crimes Of Grindelwald."

"Stranger Things" Returned With A Bang For Its Fourth Season

Earlier this year, The Blast reported that the Duffer Brothers dropped vital details about what fans could expect from the fourth season of their hit sci-fi series, "Stranger Things."

In a message shared on the show's Instagram page, the showrunners' revealed their plans to divide the new season into two parts, with the first airing on May 27 followed by volume 2 on July 1.

The Duffer Brothers confessed that the fourth season's production was challenging compared to the previous seasons as it took nearly two years to shoot the show with the addition of numerous visual effects.

The producers also stated that fans should prepare to say their final goodbyes to "Stranger Things" as the show's fifth and final season was underway.
