"Top Gun" star Miles Teller and actress Shailene Woodley have an incredibly warm, friendly relationship and their fans absolutely adore it. In the past, the two have co-starred in "The Spectacular Now" in 2013 and the "Divergent" movies. 

In a recent interview with People, the 35-year-old actor opened up about a partnership deal with the online store eBay for the launching of their new project. Teller was then asked about the progress of his latest action film, "Top Gun: Maverick." 

While the two-month-old blockbuster broke several box office records, Teller shouted out actress and ex-model Woodley and thanking her for showing him support.

Miles Teller Is 'Flattered' By Her Compliment

During the interview, the star recalled Woodley calling him a "wildly talented actor" in June. At the time, the actress stood in front of a poster for the "Top Gun" film and praised his performance in the caption of an IG post. 

Fans found the gesture very sweet and expressed their thoughts in the comments section. Teller did as well as he said of Woodley's reaction to the movie, "It was nice." He also told People that it felt nice to be publicly supported by his friend. He said, "I think it's nice in this business when your friends publicly support you, so I was very appreciative of it — and a bit flattered as well."

However, he noted that it didn't matter whether or not she publicly praised the film since they'd been supporting each other throughout their friendship. "She certainly didn't have to do anything publicly for me to know that she supports me and that we are really good friends. ... We've been very close for a long time."

Shailene Woodley Had 'A Proud Sister Moment'

In her social media post last month, the actress shouted out the star, telling fans that she was having a "proud sister moment."

Woodley then urged fans to go see the movie in a caption, saying, "If you haven't had the chance yet, run, don't walk, to your nearest cinema, sit you're a-- down, and watch the new Top Gun." 

She also explained how watching the film made her feel. "You will feel like a kid again…going to the theater for an ACTUAL cinematic experience. we laughed, we cried, we clapped. so much clapping."

She Praised His Acting

Woodley went on to praise the star's acting skills and role in the film, noting that "Top Gun" was one of a kind. 

"[Tom Cruise] obvi slayed so hard … and #milesteller gave the world everything you want but rarely get in a blockbuster film … heart. soul. sass. charisma. (oiled up abs). pain. elation. and he did it all with such subtlety you barely knew it was happening," she said. 

Woodley also recalled how happy she felt watching the film and thanked the "Top Gun" team for a great project. "f--k, he really is such a wildly talented actor," she said of Teller, "and it made my heart explode watching him do his thing in this." "I'm beyond happy for him and this entire @topgunmovie team. Thank you for giving the world this gift."

She then concluded with a sweet shoutout message to her friend, writing, "miles, you deserve every ounce of this exciting moment."

Miles Teller In' Top Gun: Maverick'

In the Action/Adventure film released in May, Teller played Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, one of the young Top Gun graduates. He was also the son of Captain Pete "Maverick" Mitchell's best friend, Late Anthony Edwards, who died in the first film.

In the movie, Teller was joined by a new set of pilots, including Greg Tarzan Davis, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Monica Barbaro, and Jay Ellis. The film also starred Jon Hamm and Jennifer Connelly, while 62-year-old actor Val Kilmer reprised his role from the first film. 

Fans can currently see "Top Gun: Maverick" in theaters.
