Rod Stewart and Oldest Son, Sean Stewart Get Arrested and Charged With Criminal Battery After Fight

Rod Stewart and oldest son, Sean Stewart tried to get into a private event at a resort in Palm Beach, Florida called The Breakers and were denied entry. Stewart and his son were with a large group of people. The private event, according to People was being held in the children's section of the resort.

Once they were denied access to this private event by a security guard who was working the event, Stewart's son, Sean pushed the security guard. Rod then threw a punch and hit the guard in his left rib cage.

The Stewart's were with a group of people and got very agitated being denied entry into this event. One person who was there when this happened said the group seemed 'like a frat party' and were 'loud and disruptive all night.'

The police were called to the incident and arrested both father and son Stewart and charged them both with criminal battery for shoving and hitting the security guard. Rod Stewart has since apologized for his actions. A source close to them said, "It was a brief misunderstanding and neither Rod nor Sean were detained. Apologies were exchanged and there were no injuries."

Although the father and son duo weren't detained for this incident, they do both have to appear in court on February 5 at the Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Complex.

An affidavit by the Palm Beach police department stated this, "The group began to get loud and cause a scene, and refused to follow … instructions to leave."

Although the elder Stewart did apologize for his actions that night, his representative had no comment on the incident. People also tried getting information from the resort, The Breakers, said, "The Breakers Palm Beach has no information to share."

Although it seems like the singer and his oldest son got all riled up on New Year's Eve when refused to be given entry to the private event, not too long ago, he was opening up about his quiet struggling with prostate cancer he had but beat. He was diagnosed a few years ago but didn't go public with the announcement until last fall.

He said, "Two years ago, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. "No one knows this, but I thought this was about time I told everybody. I'm in the clear, now, simply because I caught it early. I have so many tests."

He made the confession about having prostate cancer during a fundraising project he was performing at. The fundraiser was for the Prostate Project and European Tour Foundation charity in Surrey, England this past September.

As he made the confession, he encouraged everyone there to get regular checkups. When encouraging the men to get checked for it, he said, "Guys, you've got to really go to the doctor. Finger up the bum, no harm done."

Oldest son Sean didn't comment or apologize it seems, like his dad did.

Rod Stewart and ex-wife, Alana Stewart have eight children together. Sean Stewart is the oldest of the eight children. Rod and Alana ended their marriage in 1984. Rod is now married to Penny Lancaster.
