Chelsea Handler And Jo Koy Record Early Anniversary Video, Then BREAKUP!

Fans won't get to be serenaded by Chelsea Handler and Jo Koy's amazing romance as the pair are no longer together.

The comedian broke the devastating news in a social media post ahead of their 1 year dating anniversary, leaving fans super heartbroken.

On Monday, Handler took to Instagram to share a heartwarming video she and Koy, also a comedian, playfully recorded ahead of their first dating anniversary.

"In anticipation of celebrating our first year together, Jo and I recorded this video early," she announced. The lovebirds looked radiant and so in love with Koy's arms lovingly wrapped around Handler.

The "Chelsea Lately" star donned a saying gold jumpsuit while her then-partner opted for a blue zip-up jacket. "Hey guess what? We're celebrating our one year anniversary together," the couple said in unison in the video.

Handler sweetly asked the "Easter Sunday" star what he had learned from being in a relationship with his "lover," to which he responded, "that it's fun to be in love and always be in the moment."

The 47-year-old then shared her response, saying Koy was the one who taught her "to always be in the moment because you can."

The former lovebirds then had a playful interaction as Koy tried to shush Handler with a plastic hand and in the process hit her teeth. The pair couldn't stop laughing as the 51-year-old tried to comfort his partner.

However, despite their plans and anticipation for their 1-year dating milestone, Handler and Koy weren't able to make it.

Handler opened up about their shocking breakup in the accompanying caption writing, "...as many of you have noticed, it is with a heavy heart to announce that we have decided together that it is best for us to take a break from our relationship right now."

She continued, "I know many of you were invested in our love, and I wanted to express to you how much that meant to both of us. How much it still means. And how much I now believe in love for each one of us."

Regardless of their breakup, Handler seemingly has no regret and still has so much love for her now ex-boyfriend. She had nothing but sweet words to say about their time together, writing:

This man blew my heart open with love and because of him, my life experience has changed forever. To be loved and adored by @jokoy has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.

She praised the "Jo Koy: Comin' In Hot" star for renewing her faith in "men,  in love, in being 100% who I am," and as a result, she was more than "optimistic" about what the future held for them as individuals.

Handler dedicated a personal tribute to Koy, remembering the great impact he had on her life and career. "Jo- you blew my creativity open, my lust for working hard again, being on the road again, and you reminded me who I was and always have been, and my feet have never been more firmly planted in the ground," she added.

The New Jersey native urged people not to see their split as "an ending" but as "another beginning." She noted, "t’s a comfort to know that I am still loved and love this man the way the sun loves the moon and the moon loves the sun. YOUR PERSON IS COMING."

In the concluding paragraph, Handler encouraged fans to continue to root for them and head to theaters to purchase tickets for Koy's upcoming movie projects, "Easter Sunday" and "Filipino PRIDE."

Koy also took to his Instagram page to share the breakup news. He uploaded a heart-melting photo of them cuddling their two giant dogs and posing as a family.

He captioned the post, "Just want everyone to know that Chelsea and I will always remain great friends and will always have love for one another. I’m her biggest fan and I can’t wait for you all to see what she has in store for the future. Keep killing it Chelsea! Mahal kita!"

The surprise breakup news comes a month after Handler penned a sweet tribute to Koy during his 51st birthday, revealing to fans how the Washington native was almost everything she wanted in a man.

As The Blast reported, the "This Means War" actress shared a lengthy list of all the attributes she wanted in a man and how she prayed to God about it.

"I want someone who is loyal to me and loyal to his friends. Someone who is willing to stick his neck out and fight for good. I want someone brave, who understands me and loves me unconditionally, and sees my mess, and loves me in spite of it," a section of the list read.

Handler gushed that she found every single thing in Koy except her desire for a man with “a great head of hair."
