'Wizards of Waverly Place' Star David Henrie & Wife Maria Cahill Welcome 3rd Child

Actor David Henrie and his wife Maria Cahill have welcomed their third child and rainbow baby after they previously suffered a miscarriage. They had their daughter, Gemma Clare Henrie, on Sunday, July 17th, and were super happy to announce the news to their fans.
The couple already has two kids, a girl, and a boy. Henrie has previously revealed to fans that he and Cahill have had four miscarriages in the past. They had three before their first child and a fourth before the birth of their second child.
The couple shared that Cahill had suffered her fifth miscarriage in 2021, which made many fans worried that she wouldn't carry her pregnancy with Gemma to term. Thankfully, both mother and child are fine.

David Henrie Announced The Birth On Instagram
Henrie revealed to his Instagram followers that he and Cahill had welcomed Gemma on Sunday, July 17th. He posted photos of the family at the hospital and captioned them, "IT'S A GIRL!!!! Gemma Clare Henrie was born 7lbs 15oz at 3:21 am."
"Maria is currently enjoying the most deserved nap ever, haha," he continued, "She stuck to her plan and had a drug-free birth, and I couldn't be more in awe of her! Thanks be to God for the greatest gift on earth, and Maria and I thank you all for your prayers."
It also read, "I received many messages and I really appreciate it. #vitabella #deogratias and a huge shout out to our nurses Morgan and Sofia and our midwife Katy! Y'all are spectacular and thank you to all the nurses out there we appreciate you."
He Revealed The Pregnancy In Late 2021
Henrie revealed that Cahill was pregnant on his Instagram page in December 2021. The "Wizards of Waverly Place" alum and the former beauty queen already had two kids, 3-year-old Philomena and 19 months old James.

The post also doubled as a birthday celebration post for James. Henrie posted a photo of his son's birthday party, which he captioned, "Maria and I were really racking our brains on what to get our son James for his first birthday #3 #bigbrother."
He continued, "We are going to wait until birth for the gender reveal. Couldn't think of a better gender reveal then [sic] that am I right?!" Many fans guessed the baby would be a girl; of course, they were right.
He Later Revealed Their Fifth Miscarriage
Later that December, Henrie also revealed on his Instagram (Via UsWeekly) that Cahill had suffered her fifth miscarriage before she conceived her pregnancy with Gemma. The former Disney Channel actor wrote, "I'm proud of her because she did what needed to be done to heal, and now we've been given another chance with our third child, and we are hopefully clear of miscarriage danger."

He had previously spoken about the three pregnancies they lost when they welcomed their first child, Philomena. At the time, he wrote, "Maria and I suffered three miscarriages before finally being able to carry Pia to full term."
He continued, "While it was insanely difficult recovering from miscarriage after miscarriage, we knew if we were ever going to be able to hold a baby of our own in our arms that we must not let the tragedy affect our marriage, but rather grow closer together!"
The "How I Met Your Mother" actor also explained that he "felt compelled to share" the story of their losses. He wrote, "I had no clue just how difficult trying to start a family could be. My wife and I went through trials. … We discovered a severe progesterone deficiency which seems to have been our culprit. The answers are out there."

When the couple had their second child, James, on Christmas Day, Henrie revealed that Cahill had suffered a fourth miscarriage. He made a 2020 social media upload and captioned it, "Jesus … blessed us in a special way by giving us James on this date because it was December 25th, 2019 that we had our fourth miscarriage."
He continued, "Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes, they paid off in a massive way. … My wife is a superhero and was able to achieve her goal of having a drug-free birth. I'm so proud of her!"
