‘Jeopardy!’ In Review: July 18 - July 22, Everything You Missed!

Welcome to “Jeopardy!” In Review! This week, we will be revisiting the episodes from July 18 through July 22.

Monday, July 18 – Emily Returns

On Monday, Emily returned to defend her three-day total of $87,201 dollars against Erica, a fourth-grade teacher, and William, a research fellow.
The first round featured the categories: GIVING YOU THE BOOT // GOOD HISTORY // ACTING UP ON TV // THE WOUK MOB // COLOR ME BAD // "THE" END
After the first round, Emily had $2,600, William had $400, and Erica had $3,200.
The Double Jeopardy! round featured the categories: GIVING YOU THE BOOT // 10- 11- & 12- LETTER WORDS // TROPHY HUSBAND // AMERICANA // ACTIVE BIBLE VERSES // FEELIN' INDEPENDENT
Going into the Final Jeopardy! round, Erica had $11,600, William had $8,800, and Emily had $7,800 dollars.
The Final Jeopardy! category was "ART & THEATRE." The clue read: "Asked to design a new set for a restaging of this 1952 play, Alberto Giacometti came up with one scraggly plaster tree."
Everyone provided a correct answer of "What is 'Waiting for Godot'?" Erica wagered $4,001 dollars to double Emily's score by a dollar, which is what William also did by betting $6,801 dollars, so they ended up in a tie.
The Tiebreaker category was BIOGRAPHIES. The clue read: "'The Passage of Power' covers 1958 to 1964 in Robert Caro's 4th volume of the life of this American."
William was the first to buzz in with a correct answer of "Who was Lyndon B. Johnson?" He created a new one-day total of $15,601 dollars.
Tuesday, July 19 - William Returns

On Tuesday, William returned to defend his one-day total of $15,601 dollars against Catherine, a medical humanities professor, and Matt, an attorney.
The first round featured the categories: SAN DIEGO: NEWS CLUES // CARTOON THEME SONG LYRICS // 20th CENTURY AMERICA // HYBRID ANIMAL PARENTS // "LOCK" // KEY
At the end of the first round, William had $4,200, Matt had $9,400, and Catherine had -$400.
The Double Jeopardy! round featured the categories: INTERNATIONAL NATIONAL PARKS // THE MOVIE'S DIRECTOR // LET'S BUILD A HOUSE // POSSESSIVE LIT // UNDER QUARANTINE // WORD ORIGINS
Going into the Final Jeopardy! round, Matt had $16,600, William had $14,600, and Catherine had $400.
The Final Jeopardy! category was "OPERA." The clue read: "An aria from this opera says, 'Put on your costume & apply make-up to your face. The people pay & they want to laugh.'"
Both Matt and Catherine were able to come up with a correct answer of "What is 'Pagliacci'? Matt added $12,601 dollars to create a new one-day total of $29,201 dollars.
Wednesday, July 20 - Matt Returns

On Wednesday, Matt returned to defend his one-day total of $29,201 dollars against Alison, a nurse practitioner, and Alfred, an assistant dean.
The first round featured the categories: PLEASE RISE FOR OUR NATIONAL... // DOUBLE TALK // WORLD CAPITAL ATTRACTIONS // QUIZ BOWL // IT'S A BUG // NOT A FEATURE
At the end of the first round, Matt had $6,000, Alfred had -$200, and Alison had $6,200.
The Double Jeopardy! round featured the categories: FAMOUS AMERICANS // EATING & DRINKING PLACES // HISTORY // THE TITLE THAT COMPLETES THE RHYME // ESSAYS // HEY, NICE "AB"s!
"The Title That Completes The Rhyme" actually stirred up a fair amount of controversy online when three contestants missed what should have been an obvious clue. Those interested can read more about that here.
Going into the Final Jeopardy! round, Matt had $25,600, Alison had $12,200, and Alfred had $5,500.
The Final Jeopardy! category was "HISTORIC AMERICAN ROADS." The clue read: "Originally a Native American trail, the Dutch made it a main road & today it runs 33 miles from State Street to Sleepy Hollow."
Both Matt and Alfred were able to come up with a correct answer of "What is Broadway?" Matt added $1,044 dollars to win $26,644 dollars for a two-day total of $55,845 dollars.
Thursday, July 21 - Matt Returns

On Thursday, Matt returned to defend his two-day total of $55,845 dollars against Stan, a senior vice president of marketing assets, and Emmie, an operations specialist.

After the first round, Matt had $7,800, Emmie had $3,000, and Stan had $1,800.
The Double Jeopardy! round featured the categories: ASIAN GEOGRAPHY // COMPOUND WORDS // BOTTOMS UP! // NAME THAT HITMAKER // HEALTH & MEDICINE // CLOSING STATEMENTS
Going into the Final Jeopardy! round, Emmie had $15,800, Matt had $23,400, and Stan had $5,600.
The Final Jeopardy! category was "CONSTELLATIONS." The clue read: "The brightest star of this constellation is Deneb Algedi, or 'Kid’s Tail.'"
Only Emmie was able to come up with a correct answer of "What is Capricorn?" Emmie added $5,400 to create a new one-day total of $21,200 dollars.

Going into the Final Jeopardy! round, Karla had $17,600, Gunan had $7,600, and Emmie had $5,800 dollars.
The Final Jeopardy! category was "INAUGURAL BALLS." The clue read: "At the 1993 Tennessee inaugural ball, Paul Simon performed this song, his most recent Top 40 hit."
No one was able to come up with a correct answer of "What is 'You Can Call Me Al'?" Karla lost $1,000 to create a new one-day total of $16,600 dollars.
But would she be able to keep her win streak going on Monday? Fans will just have to tune in to find out!
