Many "Jeopardy!" and Taylor Swift fans were equally outraged when three contestants were unable to name a popular Taylor Swift song lyric.

It seems that many "Jeopardy!" contestants need to do a bit more to brush up on their pop culture knowledge, as this is the second time that a pop culture icon has been "snubbed" on the show.

Earlier this year, Diana Ross was the subject of controversy after contestants incorrectly guessed that she was over 90 years old in two separate episodes set months apart.

On Wednesday night, returning champion Matt Mierswa picked a $400 dollar clue in the category "The Title That Completes the Rhyme" in the Double Jeopardy! round. Basically, the clue would name a song lyric, and the contestant needed to buzz in with the correct answer.

Current host Ken Jennings, who will be hosting until season 38 ends on July 29, read,  “And I’m just like oh-oh oh-oh oh-oh oh-oh oh-oh, you need to just stop, like can you just not, step on my gown?”

It was clear that Matt had no idea what the answer was. The other two contestants looked equally confused until a surprised Ken Jennings informed them that the lyric belonged to 11-time Grammy award-winning singer Taylor Swift.

Ken also joked, “I really wish this was Johnny [Gilbert] reading these. This is You Need to Calm Down by Taylor Swift.”

Swifties were disappointed that none of the three contestants were able to correctly identify the song, especially considering how frequently it was played on the radio when it was first released.

Despite the gaffe, Matt had $25,600, Alison had $12,200, and Alfred had $5,500 going into the Final Jeopardy! round.

The Final Jeopardy! category was "HISTORIC AMERICAN ROADS." The clue read: "Originally a Native American trail, the Dutch made it a main road & today it runs 33 miles from State Street to Sleepy Hollow."
