A 2.0 version of ‘GTL,’ meatball madness and “Cabs Are HERE” might not happen.
“Jersey Shore 2.0” appears to be a complete disaster, and the fate of the show is looking grim.
Days after the reboot of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” came to a screeching halt, the house where the Gen-Z cast would live and party has been stripped of all production gear.
"Jersey Shore 2.0" Might Not Be Happening!
TMZ reports the Atlantic City home where the show was set to take place has been completely gutted of production equipment including cameras and lights.
Sources told the outlet that production crews were on location in AC on Wednesday, July 13, taking down lights and cameras from the home. It took crews about four hours to strip the house of its technical equipment.
And if you know anything about show business, you need a camera at the very least to make a show.
Production Equipment Has Been Stripped Down
Furthermore, producers of the show were seen taking down ‘No Parking’ and permit signs that were dated from the beginning of July to August 6th.
Security was on site as gear was packed and loaded into trucks.
It’s unclear if the show has been completely trashed or if production is switching locations.
But from the looks of what’s been going on… it doesn’t look good.
Earlier this week, The Blast reported that production came to an abrupt halt following outrage from the original cast.
This bump in the road happened less than a week after production started.
The outlet learned the massive home in Atlantic City, New Jersey was already outfitted with cameras, lighting and a security team; however, everything suddenly came to a stop.
Sources close to production told TMZ that the only explanations to pull the plug so abruptly is an issue with the cast.
There’s a possibility they don’t vibe or there was a behavioral issue.
There Could've Been A Clash In The New Cast
MTV has only confirmed production has been “paused.” The network will not announce who is going to be on the show, but it is known there will be a younger crew than the original cast.
“Jersey Shore” rose to fame in the mid-2000s and made super stars out of Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, DJ Pauly D, Jenni ‘JWOWW’ Farley, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Vinny Guadagnino, Deena Cortese, Angelina Pivarnick, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.
Speaking of the OG cast, who wreaked havoc in Seaside Heights, Miami, Florida, and Italy, they are reportedly FUMING about the new show.
When news of 2.0 show was coming out, they issued a joint message.
Back in May, the cast of “Jersey Shore” took a stance against MTV and royally pissed off the network.
There's Definitely A 'Situation' Going On!
“As a cast that took a chance with a network in need, we put our most vulnerable moments on television for the world to see. We gave our all the past 13 years, became a family and continue to open our lives to the world,” the joint statement read. “So please understand that we are not in support of a version that will exploit our original show, our hard work and authenticity to gain viewers.”
The OG cast signed off the statement “#WeAreJerseyShore.”
Snooki very briefly expressed her disdain for “Jersey Shore 2.0” on her podcast, “It’s Happening with Snooki & Joey.”
According to reports, the statement issued by the OG cast has nothing to do with the halting production.
