On Thursday, The Sun reported that producers are working hard to make Adele's documentary her "most meaningful work yet."

Although the "Rolling In The Deep" singer knows she let down a lot of fans when she backed out of her Las Vegas Residency earlier this year, she is determined to make it up to them!

“Adele feels she let fans down somewhat with how the past 12 months have panned out, particularly the last-minute postponement of her Las Vegas residency, and sees this as a way of making up for that,” an insider dished.

The documentary will also reportedly touch on how much Adele's life has changed since she released her debut album and became an international sensation.

“One thing is for certain, it will be must-watch TV," the source continued. "Even though everyone knows her name, Adele is still quite mysterious as a person. Her life now compared to when she released her debut album is unrecognizable.”

Although the insider described the project as "intimate," they did say that the documentary will explore her well-known career achievements and many successful hit songs.

As reported by Deadline, Adele’s concert series was supposed to begin on Friday, January 21, and run through the middle of April. Although fans paid big bucks for tickets, the concert never happened and no make-up dates have been announced, leading many fans to suspect that her Las Vegas Residency has been canceled.

In the interview with BBC, she said, “I definitely felt everyone’s disappointment and I was devastated and I was frightened about letting them down, and I thought I could pull it together and make it work and I couldn’t, and I stand by that decision.”

Adele called the backlash she received from fans “brutal,” especially since some fans had already taken time off work, traveled to Las Vegas, and only found out her first concert had been canceled once they had already arrived. Adele said the backlash made her a “shell of a person for a couple of months.”

“You can’t buy me, you can’t buy me for nothing,” Adele said. “I’m not going to just do a show because I have to or because people are going to be let down or because we’re going to lose loads of money. I’m like, ‘The show’s not good enough.’”

According to Deadline, the stage sets for the show have been thrown out and the venue has moved forward with other artists, so it’s unclear when Adele’s “postponed” tour dates will actually happen.

“I’m not gonna update you if I ain’t got nothing to update you with because that just leads to more disappointment,” Adele said, although there are still conflicting reports as to why the concert was canceled.

At first, the “Hello” singer blamed the COVID-19 pandemic, saying, “Half my crew, half my team is down with COVID — they still are — and it’s been impossible to finish the show.”

Later, reports revealed clashes between Adele and the production team over a 60-person choir and a pond that she was supposed to rise from the stage from. It's not clear what really went wrong, but hopefully, the documentary will clear all of that up!
