Dwayne Johnson is gushing about his daughter Simone Johnson who is walking in his steps and carrying on the family's legacy with her WWE career.
Simone, professionally known as Ava Raine and born on August 14, 2001, is the daughter of Dwayne and IFBB professional bodybuilder, Danny Garcia.
ET recently reported that the brilliant former wrestler could not help but express his pride in his talented daughter's budding WWE career, which was undoubtedly warranted as she blazed her "own path."
Dwayne Johnson Watches And Supports Daughter's Thriving Wrestling Career
Dwayne's daughter is indeed paving her way in the wrestling world since beginning her career in the WWE in 2020 and making her impressive debut in the ring.
While appearing at the recent "DC League of Super-Pets" screening, the notable actor told the outlet's representative that he was proud of his baby girl, who was "fourth generation" and had made history.
Speaking of which, the 20-year-old wrestler emulated her father, grandfather "Soul Man" Rocky Johnson, and great grandfather, Prince "The High Chief" Peter Maivia, who were prominent wrestlers in their time.
As you may know, Dwayne retired from WWE in 2004 and was known to wrestle under the title "The Rock." However, despite his retirement, he has no qualms about his daughter's success as she progresses in her career.
He also believes she is "fiercely independent," which he told ET, adding that it was "very important" for the young star to "make her own way, blaze her own trail, and blaze her own path."
The former WWE champion continued, "She doesn't come to me looking for a lot which I respect that. And I'm here watching and supporting."
Simone may be receiving tons of support from her doting father, but not many wrestling fans were taken with her involvement in the sport.
Earlier in May, she was slammed by said wrestling supporters who believed she was not honoring her family after announcing her ring name.
Nevertheless, she explained her choice in a statement, saying, "I don't understand why people being portrayed as separate individuals from their family name is such a heated topic."
Simone added that a name did not "discredit" any past achievements from any family, and she could still build her career around her father with people remaining haters.
Her father seemed not to be so worried about her professional name as he previously celebrated her making history as the youngest person to sign a contract with WWE.
In 2020, the year of the official sign-in, Dwayne confessed that his daughter signing the contract blew his mind because he felt honored she followed in his footsteps and really wanted her to forge her path.
As The Blast reported that same year, the 50-year-old producer announced the good news on social media with a delightful message showing his pride and encouraging her to live her dream.
At the time, it was noted that if she remained with WWE and became a pro wrestler, she would make history by being the first fourth-generation wrestler.
Simone was beyond joyous about getting the chance to be a part of her family's wrestling legacy, which she voiced in a WWE press release. She said:
"It means the world to me. To know that my family has such a personal connection to wrestling is really special to me, and I feel grateful to have the opportunity, not only to wrestle but to carry on that legacy."
The Two-Time Intercontinental Champion Will Not Host 74th Emmy Awards Ceremony
The Blast recently shared that Dwayne declined an offer to host the 2022 Emmys this September, marking the 74th annual awards ceremony.
He seemed to have had a genuine reason for the rejection, as he mentioned that his busy schedule prevented him from taking on the gig even though he felt honored to be an option.
In his words, "It was just schedule. I was really, truly honored when they came to me and asked, but it was just a scheduling thing. That's all. That's really what it comes down to."
The outlet also reported that famed comedian Chris Rock was asked to host the awards show with Dwayne, but a source revealed that Rock was busy with several projects.
It remained uncertain who would host the event; nevertheless, nominations were recently announced, with several new attainments coming up.
