Actor Dwayne Johnson revealed why he turned down an offer to host the 2022 Emmys this September.

The "Red Notice" actor is a pretty busy guy. He is currently promoting his new animated film "DC League of Super-Pets" and his upcoming role as the titular "Black Adam" in the DC franchise.

With so much on his plate, it looks like the former wrestler known as The Rock just doesn't have time to host the Emmys!

According to Entertainment Tonight, the "Jungle Cruise" actor was asked to host the 74th annual Emmy Awards this September, but he turned them down. Johnson revealed that it all came down to his busy schedule.

“It was just schedule. I was really, truly honored when they came to me and asked, but it was just a scheduling thing,” he said. “That’s all. That’s really what it comes down to.”

Last month, Deadline reported that he and comedian Chris Rock were asked to host the show together. However, a source told Entertainment Tonight that he is busy performing on his "Ego Death World Tour" and his upcoming Netflix comedy special, so it looks like he won't have time to perform either.

At this time, it's unknown who is going to host the 2022 Emmys. The nominations were announced on Tuesday (a full list of nominees can be seen here).

HBO managed to get 140 nominations, an increase from the 130 nominations it received in 2021. However, Netflix nominations were down from 129 nominations to only 105 this year. Part of HBO's success can be attributed to their hit series, "Succession," which earned 25 nominations. "The White Lotus" and Apple's "Ted Lasso" each scored 20 nominations.

The hit Netflix series "Squid Game" also made history, becoming the first non-English language series to be nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Drama.

In terms of hosts, in 2020, Jimmy Kimmel hosted a theater full of cardboard cut-outs of celebrities due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Cedric the Entertainer hosted the ceremony last year, although it was a scaled-down, socially distanced ceremony.

The 2022 Emmy Awards will be available to stream at 8 PM EST on September 12 on NBC or Peacock.

He also isn't the only one who has been advocating for shark conservation during shark week. Although two people were recently attacked by sharks on Long Island in one day, "The Vampire Diaries" alum Nina Dobrev actually went swimming with sharks to prove that they are just misunderstood creatures.

"The Bricklayer" star and her Olympic gold-winning snowboarding boyfriend, Shaun Whitewent swimming with sharks together in order to raise awareness about how peaceful sharks can be. Although it was the first time Shaun went swimming with sharks, Nina described how she has been swimming with all different types of sharks for much of her life, pointing out that she never uses a cage and the sharks are always calm around her.
