It looks like Ghostface is going to get some new blood in the upcoming “Scream 6.”
On Thursday, Deadline reported that “The Valet” star Samara Weaving and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” actor Tony Revolori has been added to the latest “Scream” thriller.
The movie, which is scheduled to come out in March 2023, is building up quite an ensemble cast. Scroll down to see who has been cast in the movies so far and what sources told The Blast exclusively about what fans can expect from the plot of “Scream 6!”
Are Samara Weaving and Tony Revolori Prepared To Take On Ghostface In ‘Scream 6’?
It’s not yet clear what characters Samara and Tony will be playing. The next installment of the collaboration will pick up with the four survivors of the latest Woodsboro massacre leaving the town behind to start a fresh chapter.
Radio Silence’s Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who helmed the last film, will return to direct. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick co-wrote the screenplay, with Project X Entertainment’s Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak serving as producers. The film is expected to be released on March 31, 2023.
Samara had previously worked with the Radio Silence collective in the 2019 horror movie “Ready or Not.” In addition to the Hulu film “The Valet,” she also starred in the Hulu series “Nine Perfect Strangers.”
Tony previously collaborated with Wes Anderson in “The Grand Budapest,” “The French Dispatch,” and the upcoming “Asteroid City.” He’s probably best known for his role as Flash Thompson in the recent “Spider-Man” trilogy. He will also appear in the upcoming original Disney+ series, “Willow.”
Who Else Is Going To Be In ‘Scream 6’?
Although star Neve Campbell won’t be reprising her role as Sidney Prescott in the upcoming horror movie, the next movie will feature the return of actress Hayden Panettiere, who will be reprising her character of Kirby Reed from “Scream 4.”
The four actors and actresses who managed to survive “Scream 5” will all be making their return: Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega.
Actor Dermot Mulroney, best known for starring opposite Julia Roberts in 1997’s “My Best Friend’s Wedding,” has also been cast as a cop in the upcoming film.
Although the plot of the new chapter in the franchise has yet to be unmasked, Deadline reported that the new film “continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.”

It seems Gale Weathers is still working as a news reporter. Now that Neve Campbell has stepped back from the franchise, sources exclusively told The Blast that the story will focus on Courteney Cox’s character of Gale Weathers, who has appeared in every installment to date.
According to our inside source, Gale is currently working as a news reporter in New York City. It seems Ghostface has left Woodsboro behind and has decided to target her and those close to her. A motive for the killings has yet to be revealed… but we’re sure Gale will be able to figure it out!
As of right now, we’ve been told that there are multiple versions of the script that exist. Gale does die in at least one of them, but it’s possible that they may not kill her off if she is the only legacy character that remains from the original 1996 “Scream” movie.

In the photos released earlier this week, Cox is seen sporting a blue suit with statement neon green heels. Crew members can be seen rushing around in the background, and in some takes, she is holding a water bottle.
Cox’s hair falls in loose waves around her shoulders for this scene. In most takes, it looks like she is patiently waiting to start filming, as masked crew members buzz in and out of the frame.
The film is expected to be released in theaters on March 31, 2023, so there are still many more updates to come! Stay tuned!
