Page Six first revealed that Grimes and Manning had started dating in an exclusive piece back in March. They first became involved after Grimes officially split from Musk for the second time.

They reported that a source had revealed that Grimes and Manning had become serious in their relationship. The couple had reportedly "U-Hauled it. They've been living together in Austin."

Despite the seriousness of their relationship, 34-year-old Manning retained ownership of her apartment in Brooklyn, New York. The two were very private about their relationship, so it is unclear why they split and whether Manning was close with Grimes' kids.

Not long after news broke that Grimes and Manning had become serious, a Vanity Fair story dropped, revealing that Grimes had just welcomed her second child with Musk via surrogacy. At the time, she said she would "refer to him as my boyfriend, but we're very fluid. We live in separate houses. We're best friends."

However, by the time the Vanity Fair piece was printed, Grimes and Musk had split again. She quoted a post about the article on Twitter and wrote, "Me and E have broken up *again* since the writing of this article, haha, but he's my best friend and the love of my life, and my life and art are forever dedicated to The Mission now."

Manning responded to the tweet, saying, "vouch."
