Whether you regularly watch "The View" or just see clips of it, you may have the perception that host Meghan McCain is the one who's most often responsible for awkward or cringe-worthy moments. As the most vocal Republican in the group, she's often in the minority on the panel.

There's actually another Republican on the panel, though, and she's much less vocal than her co-host. Abby Huntsman is also a Republican, and the two were actually friends before they started working on the show together.

This week, Huntsman had a moment that went viral on the show, and not necessarily for positive reasons. When Lupita Nyong'o was a guest on the show, the subject of "Star Wars" came up.

In the new trilogy, Nyong'o plays a character called Maz Kanata, and her character will be returning in "The Rise of Skywalker." When Maz came up, the show showed a photo of the character on the big screen behind the panel, and Huntsman made things uncomfortable.

"How long did hair and make-up take?" Huntsman asked Nyong’o.

Most of the time, that would be a perfectly legitimate question to ask an actor. In this case, though, Maz is created entirely using technology. Nyong'o performs the character using motion-capture technology, but her body never appears on screen.

"That’s CGI," Nyong’o replied. "It’s actually animatronic," the actress then corrected herself. Huntsman then said she had no idea, and had only based her question on the image she had seen behind her.

The clip has not been received very well online, with many fans suggesting that the moment was worthy of a hard cringe. Lupita kept herself calm and collected, but some fans thought that inside, she was dying to smack Huntsman for asking the question.

Although the incident is far from great, it's not the kind of moment that is likely to ruin Huntsman's career. Like all the hosts of "The View," she's already survived plenty of controversies that have come from the show.

In an interview with People, McCain and Huntsman discussed their long-running friendship, which began when the two of them met at Fox News.

"We’re like salt and pepper, right?" Huntsman told the magazine. "I always say, ‘Everyone needs salt and pepper and you need them both together.’ You don’t just want the pepper and you don’t just want the salt."

Huntsman may not know who Maz Kanata is, but she seems to know who her friends are, at least among the hosts of "The View."
