Brad Pitt 'Pissed More People Off' With Face Blindness Excuse

Brad Pitt isn’t blinded by the light, rather he’s blinded by faces.
The Oscar-winning actor revealed in a GQ cover story that he suffers from a rare condition called prosopagnosia, otherwise known as “face blindness.”
The condition doesn’t allow him to recognize people’s faces. Pitt has a true inability to remember people’s faces if they’re new in his life or meeting for the first time.

He told GQ that he fears this condition will people to have a certain perception of him that isn’t flattering.
Pitt is worried people will find that he’s remote, aloof, inaccessible, and/or self-absorbed.
The actor has never been formally diagnosed, but Pitt is pretty positive this is what he suffers from.
His face blindness has clearly had a negative impact on his relationships with out people.
Pitt's "Face Blindness" Is Working Against Him
He previously told Esquire that so many people hated him, because they felt he was “disrespecting them.”
“Every now and then, someone will give me context, and I’ll say, ‘Thank you for helping me,’” he continued.
Pitt definitely gave a concerted effort at “copping” to his struggles, but he said this just “pissed more people off.”
The “Fight Club” actor explained, “You get this thing, like, ‘You’re being egotistical. You’re being conceited.'”
He further explained that facial features are “a mystery” to him and it’s very difficult for him to recognize and retain faces.

“I can’t grasp a face, and yet I come from such a design/aesthetic point of view. I am going to get it tested. … That’s why I stay at home,” Pitt admitted.
During his GQ cover story, the father-of-six opened up about the possibility of retiring in the near future.
He wants to explore the “design” of his last “semester or trimester.”
Pitt has been a heartthrob since breaking onto the scene in the late ‘80s.
It’s no secret that he’s accomplished A TON in the thirty plus years he’s been acting, so he feels it’s time to start thinking about retirement.
“I consider myself on my last leg,” the 58-year-old actor told the outlet. “This last semester or trimester. What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?”
While this may sound like nails on a chalkboard to his fans, don’t worry, because the man was born to “make.”
“I’m one of those creatures that speaks through art,” he continued. “I just want to always make. If I’m not making, I’m dying in some way.”

This could mean he steps behind the camera or into an editing booth. He is already a seasoned producer on an extensive list of movies.

His put distance in his relationship with cigarettes when the pandemic first hit, but after realizing he couldn’t just cut back on them, he went full bore and stopped entirely.
“I don’t have that ability to do just one or two a day,” Pitt admitted. “It’s not in my makeup. I’m all in. And I’m going to drive into the ground. I’ve lost my privileges.”
