Ron Leibman, known for his role as Dr. Leonard Green in "Friends," has passed away at the age of 82. The stage actor, who was in dozens of films and television shows, died on Dec. 6 in New York. His agent, Robert Attermann, confirmed the actor's death but did not elaborate with any details. However, a source close to Ron Leibman told several outlets the cause of death was pneumonia, according to The Washington Post. He is survived by his wife, actress Jessica Walter.

Leibman played Jennifer Aniston's character Rachel Green's dad in the hit sitcom. His character was known for being overbearing and tough on Rachel, as well as her sister, Jill Green, played by Reese Witherspoon. Ron Leibman made several appearances in the show starting in 1996 to the end in 2004. He played a large variety of roles as both a comedic and dramatic actor. His resume shows a long list of films including the 1972 movie “Slaughterhouse-Five” and “Norma Rae” in 1979, where he played alongside Sally Field, who won an Oscar for Best Actress.

Rob Leibman's won an Emmy in 1979 for his role in the CBS series “Kaz,” which he created. He played Marvin Kazinsky, an inmate who becomes a lawyer after his release. He also appeared in the HBO cult favorite "The Sopranos" as a doctor in several episodes, but his most famous role as a physician was on "Friends." At the time of this post, neither Jennifer Aniston or Reese Witherspoon, who were featured on the show as his daughters, have addressed his death. Rob Leibman's career extended far beyond television and film. He also a stage actor who won a Tony Award in 1993 for his portrayal of lawyer Roy Cohn in Tony Kushner’s play “Angels in America." I hope you know in your hearts how deeply grateful I am to be here tonight.” The actor also thanked his wife, Jessica Walter, and joked, “Maybe we can get an apartment with a washer-dryer now.”

In addition to his roles in "Friends" and "The Sopranos," Ron Leibman appeared in several episodes of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and most recently, played the voice of Ron Cadillac in the animated action-comedy FX series “Archer.” Before marrying Jessica Walter in 1983, he wed actress Linda Lavin. The duo were married 12 years before it ended in divorce. Ron Leibman leaves behind his wife, stepdaughter and one grandson. Rest In Peace.
