Alleged Taylor Swift Stalker Arrested After Reportedly Threatening To Hurt Her

Singer Taylor Swift is rumored to be engaged to British actor Joe Alwyn but that didn't stop one alleged stalker who demanded her love.

On Saturday morning, TMZ reported that an alleged stalker showed up at her apartment in New York City last month and was only just arrested by the police after he threatened to hurt her.

Fans know "All Too Well" that the "Red" singer has been spending more time with her "London Boy" Joe Alwyn overseas due to several break-ins at her properties in Rhode Island, New York City, and Beverley Hills.

It seems that the "evermore" singer has good reason to stay away, as law enforcement officials recently told TMZ that Swift's alleged stalker was booked for stalking. It's not clear what else he might be charged with. For now, all we know is that the man, named Joshua Christian, has apparently had several run-ins with Swift and her security team, prompting concern.

On Friday, police tracked him down at his home and placed him under arrest after he threatened to hurt the "Cruel Summer" singer on June 12. Law enforcement officials told the outlet that Christian showed up at her NYC penthouse at 10:47 with the "intent to annoy and harass" Swift.

Sources say that Christian used the building's intercom to buzz up to Swift's apartment. Fans might be surprised to learn that Swift was actually home at the time and answered the intercom.

It's not clear what words were exchanged, but allegedly, Christian threatened to hurt the "You Belong With Me" singer if she refused to be with him.

Swift didn't "Shake It Off" and instead reported the incident to the police. We'll report more on this topic when more information becomes available.

The insider revealed that the power couple has "only told" their inner circle about their engagement, which means that only their immediate family and "trusted, very old friends" know that the two are planning to tie the knot.

“Everyone has been sworn to secrecy, too,” the source added, noting that the “Enchanted” singer only wears her “beautiful ring” in private. “Again, only a handful of people know details about the wedding and Taylor hasn’t even told some of her team about the engagement,” the source alleged.

“They want their love to stay away from the cameras as much as possible. This is just for them. And if and when they do exchange vows, there most definitely won’t be any Vogue, Rolling Stone, or Hello! magazines there,” they added. “It will be simple and elegant – like them.”

The news definitely checks out with what fans know of the couple, which are extremely private about their relationship. In a recent interview for WSJ. Magazine's May issue, the “Boy Erased” actor told the Wall Street Journal, “If I had a pound for every time I think I've been told I've been engaged, then I'd have a lot of pound coins.”

He added that he “wouldn’t say” if he was really engaged to the “Gorgeous” singer or not. “I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldn't say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn't say,” he told them.

Although they believe to have started dating shortly after meeting at the Met Gala in 2016, Alwyn didn't confirm their relationship until 2018. At the time, he told British Vogue that “I’m aware people want to know about that side of things. I think we have been successfully very private, and that has now sunk in for people … but I really prefer to talk about work.”
