Official Minecraft Account Pays Tribute To Technoblade, Dead At 23

On Thursday, June 30, Technoblade passed away from cancer at only 23 years old.
Although his real name was Alex, he had tricked his fans into thinking his real name was Dave to protect his family's confidentiality as he became an Internet sensation. Unfortunately, in August 2021, the popular Minecraft creator started feeling pain in his right arm, but attributed it to a repetitive stress injury from gaming.
After a few days, he went to the hospital after he noticed swelling in his shoulder and was then diagnosed with cancer.

On Friday, Minecraft posted a message to its social media accounts to pay their respects to the late gamer.
"We have been trying to find the words, but all of us here at Minecraft are heartbroken over the loss of Technoblade," they tweeted. "He meant so much to our community and brought so much joy. He will be missed dearly. ???️"
Many fans were already quick to offer suggestions as to how the community could forever honor Technoblade.
Whipped up a quick little model with the idea for the suggestion. Hopefully this can be taken into consideration.

In the game, there are several animals that you can befriend and raise, including pigs. Technoblade's avatar was a pig wearing a crown. As such, many fans are hoping that Minecraft will implement a feature that will introduce a crown on a pig's name if users rename it "Technoblade."
It remains to be seen if Minecraft will follow through with the suggestion, but it seems like a fitting way to mourn the hole Technoblade has left in the gaming community.
Fans Mourn The Loss Of The Popular Minecraft Creator
On Facebook, many users weighed in with their own stories about how Technoblade had an immeasurable impact ontheir lives.
“My sons autistic loved Technoblade and loves minecraft.. Finding out he passed away he got so upset.. Fly high Alex you've touched so many peoples lives you'll be sorely missed,” one user commented.
“Cannot stress enough how much of a positive impact this man was on my life. His unique sense of humor never failed to make me laugh even through the hardest of times. I miss him so much,” another wrote. “Technoblade never dies, for his legacy will always live on.”
“I started watching a few of his videos shortly before he announced his cancer. For many of us, he was the friend we never met. He touched many lives, and he’ll be greatly missed,” another shared.
“I only recently discovered Technoblade, and he quickly became one of my favorites. Seeing this amount of love for him just confirms my suspicion that he was an awesome man in real life, too,” another wrote. “TECHNOBLADE NEVER DIES! GNU, Alex. You did good.”

I was lucky enough to be able to spend time with him very recently and the fact that he was still just as witty and positive despite his condition really shows how strong and determined he was.

“My 17 and 18 year old boys have been in tears over his passing. (They never cry.) He was their absolute favorite for years. Such a sad loss for all,” another commented. “Thank you Alex for being you and having such a positive influence in my boys’ lives.”
“My daughter it devastated over the news. She woke me up last night when she found out. Cancer is cruel and it delt a terrible blow to this community. Rest in peace Technoblade, I will forever love your voice,” another user shared. “Thank you for all the hours of entertainment. May your family and friends find comfort during this time. “My 13 yo came in and told me last night, he was so upset,” another wrote. “We watched some videos together, he played MC and named a pig Technoblade. He will be sorely missed, thank you for adding a lot of joy to my guy.”
“It's incredible how much technoblade have helped me through my tough times with depression. He really helped me..that man was truly incredible. May his legacy continue and thrive,” another commented.
Technoblade was an incredible person, he was humble, kind and one of the funniest people in this community.

“My 14-year-old daughter loved him. I came into her room last night to find her crying hysterically. I in turn cried with her,” another shared. “She’s been sad and crying off and on all day! Like she lost a friend or loved one. I’m heartbroken that I can’t fix this pain for her and his family and friends. My heart goes out to everyone!”
Knowing he was about to pass on, Technoblade left a posthumous message for his followers that his father uploaded to YouTube. That emotional video, titled "so long nerds," can be seen here.
