Sarah Michelle Gellar Reveals She's Been Diagnosed With COVID-19
The “Scooby-Doo” live-action movie star Sarah Michelle Gellar took to Instagram to share the news that she’s come down with COVID-19. She actually shared the news earlier in the week, but shared it again in case her fans didn’t see it. “For those who missed my story on Monday,” she wrote in the caption.
“I realize I’ve been really quiet on here,” the message began. “After 2 and a half years COVID finally got me. Thankfully I’m vaccinated and boosted.”
“But to people out there that say ‘it’s just a cold’ … maybe for some it is. But for this (relatively) young fit person, who has struggled with asthma and lung issues her entire life, that is not my experience,” she continued.
“Even therapeutics and all my protocols it’s been very tough,” she explained. “I know I’m on the road to recovery but it’s certainly not been an easy road. I’ll be back soon (hopefully with super antibodies… even if just for a bit).”
“To quite a friend of mine – ‘I will wear a mask in my shower if it means I don’t get this again,’” she concluded.
“Cruel Intentions” costar Selma Blair commented, “I’m so sorry. Recovery recovery rest. I love you sicko.”
On Friday, July 1, SMG gave fans a much-requested health update to reveal that she was struggling with some "weird" post-COVID symptoms.

On Friday, Sarah posted an Instagram selfie showing off gigantic flower earrings and a black tank top with a plunging neckline.
“So post COVID… I haven’t had (or wanted) a sip of coffee or alcohol,” she wrote in the caption of the post. “To know me is to know that is just wrong. I’m also suddenly wearing large earrings. Who am I? Anyone else have weird post COVID symptoms?”
“No, but I am glad to hear you’re feeling better!” one fan commented.
“My wife and I both are less interested in alcohol post-COVID,” another follower shared. “No change in my want for coffee.”
“My memory went to crap lol,” another user wrote. “does that count?”
“I’m glad you’re feeling better, Sarah,” said another fan.
“Hopefully you can taste and smell,” another user commented. “Good luck!”
“I don’t know if I should be more concerned over the fact you haven’t had coffee or the fact you’re not wearing your big ass hoops,” another joked.
“So…my entire life I wanted to love coffee, but the taste always made me gag. After Covid, I cannot get enough coffee!” another user shared.
Another user said that they were suffering from “brain fog, skin eczema, and taste changes” post-COVID. It’s interesting to see how many fans had different experiences following their run-in with COVID, but hopefully everyone – especially Sarah – is feeling better!
