Pride Month may be over, but that isn't stopping Amy from living her best, most authentic, self! In fact, she revealed that it was only five years ago that she made the decision to transition and never looked back!

Former 'Jeopardy!' Champion Amy Schneider Says Leading An 'Authentic' Life Will Be 'Better' Than You Can Imagine

"5 years ago today, I finally took the leap into an authentic life, and told the world the truth about myself that I had always known," she told her 138.7K Twitter followers. "To anyone considering making the same choice: it won’t be as good as you imagine. It will be infinitely, indescribably better. Happy Pride, y’all."

Many fans commented with support on her post, including Tony award-winning actor Harvey Fierstein, who commented, "Oh, darling, it's the hardest lesson of all to learn: If you don't live your authentic life no one's going to live it for you!"

"I can't speak to the experience of being a transgender woman. But I can say that as a gay man, my coming out was the most liberating thing I've ever experienced and my life has changed for the better," another fan shared. "I think that's where we can find a commonality. Happy Pride!"

"3 years for me. I have become so happy since then," another follower shared. "My life didn't really start until I became the real me. I have the career I fantasized about since I was 5 years old, all because becoming me gave me the strength to realize my dreams."

"when i did the same, it was extremely difficult in many aspects. (loved ones, particularly)," another user shared. "but it was also what you describe. for every unit of despair, there were 10 units of joy. i never actually felt connected with my body and my presentation until i transitioned."
