Margot Robbie & Ryan Gosling Look Jaw-Dropping In ‘Barbie’ Outfits

The Barbie doll is one of the most popular toys of all time, but unlike many other famous toys and fictional figures, it is yet to get a live-action movie since its launch in 1959. Finally, a live-action Barbie movie is coming to theatres in July 2023, and it stars actors Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as the famous couple Barbie and Ken.

Filming for “Barbie,” directed by Greta Gerwig, recently began, and it has garnered a massive following and interest on social media. Several fans who were lucky to spot the crew during filming took photos and videos of the cast as they acted out various scenes.

The leaked pictures of the film’s shooting show that Robbie and Gosling are having fun filming as Barbie and Ken. The duo recently shot a scene that required them to go rollerblading, and they looked very happy and adorable as they did so.

Photographers spotted Robbie and Gosling as they wore matching print and neon outfits while shooting at the beach in Venice, California. They wore bright yellow and pink rollerblades with matching kneepads and colorful visors, and they both sported massive grins on their faces.

Robbie wore a print leotard and pink spandex shorts, while Gosling wore a pink vest, print jacket, and shorts. The photos are just a glimpse into the highly-anticipated film, which will premiere in July 2023. The film’s cast also includes America Ferrera, Will Ferrell, Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, Saoirse Ronan, and Kate McKinnon.

Greta Gerwig, the film’s director, is very secretive about the project and the plot details. This didn’t stop Robbie from gushing about how much she loves the movie and the opportunity for her to portray such an iconic character. She is also co-producing “Barbie” alongside her husband, Tom Ackerley.

In a press release about her taking on the role of Barbie, she said, “Playing with Barbie promotes confidence, curiosity and communication throughout a child’s journey to self-discovery. Over the brand’s almost 60 years, Barbie has empowered kids to imagine themselves in aspirational roles from a princess to president.”

Shortly after the leaked picture of Robbie and Gosling rollerblading, a video of the filming leaked, and this one appears to reveal Robbie’s voice as “Barbie.” The video was shared by a Robbie fan account and showed the actress and Ferrera as they rollerbladed down the street. Robbie then grabbed Ferrera’s hand and shouted, “Ready for fun?”

The amount of leaked pictures and videos of the set and filming has annoyed many fans, who are looking forward to watching the movie when it comes out next year. Many tweeted their displeasure and asked Gerwig to lock down the set and put in more preventive measures against leaks.

One tweet read, “I’m saying we will know the entire plot of the movie when it’s still a year away,” and another fan tweeted, “I’m seeing footage about this movie everywhere, and it’s not even out.” A third disgruntled fan tweeted, “At this point, we’re gonna see the whole movie before it releases.”

In April, Warner Bros gave fans a glimpse into Robbie’s drastic transformation into her role as the Barbie doll, complete with her classic pink convertible. In the photo they tweeted, Robbie wore a striped blue and white halterneck, a white and blue polka dot headband, and she sorted wavy beach blonde locks.

Then in June, they also revealed Gosling’s transformation into the Ken doll, releasing pictures of him sporting bleach blonde hair and chiseled abs in a double denim ensemble and personalized ‘Ken’ briefs. Many fans immediately compared Gosling’s look as Ken to that of a 90s boy band video.

Gosling only recently signed on in October 2021 to play the role of Ken. He initially turned down the offer but changed his mind after extensive and lengthy talks with Mattel and Warner Bros and several multiple delays during the film’s pre-production.

From swirling rumors about the film’s script, it is possible that there may be more than just one Barbie and Ken. Neither Gerwig, Robbie, nor Gosling has made any official statements in that regard, so for now, it’s just circumstantial.
