Despite his achievements in his professional life, his personal life has kept tongues wagging.

In a guest appearance on the "All The Way With Shelley Wade" podcast, Cannon discussed his relationships. He also shared that he liked the idea of marriage but hasn't had the best luck regarding relationships and monogamy. While he was married once to Mariah Carey, they divorced eight years later.

"I'm a hopeless romantic at the end of the day, so I love the concept, I love the ceremony of it," he shared, per People. "I've failed miserably many times at monogamy and relationships, but God ain't done with me. We're going to figure it out."

When asked about the deciding factor that would get him on the aisle again, he shared that at this phase of his life, he needed someone who would "stand by him."

"I think as I'm growing, I probably had a few midlife crises in my life. I like the man I'm growing into, and I feel like someone who understands and can stand by me."

He continued, "And if I can ever find somebody that knows how to hold me down through all my madness, chaos, and toxicity, that's probably somebody I can rock with for life."

He Still Has His Reservations About Monogamy

This is not the first time the "Wild 'N' Out" host shared his thoughts on monogamy. In February, he appeared on "The Language Of Love" podcast With Dr. Laura Bernman, where he spoke about the unhealthiness of monogamy in a relationship. He also shared that one was only "not single" when they were married.

"Married is not single. When you allow the government and paperwork to come in and say, 'This is a bond, this is a covenant, that is honored among multiple people throughout the land,' you're not single," he admitted.

He continued, "You can still make covenants without getting the government involved, where two people say, 'We choose to be monogamous because we value this so much, we don't want anyone to be a part of this energy we have,' and I don't feel like that's healthy. "I don't think monogamy is healthy. I feel like that gets into the space of selfishness and ownership."

In May, he also reiterated this opinion on the "It's Tricky" Podcast. "The traditional sense of monogamy, I don't subscribe to. I let [the women I have children with] know from the gate [about my views towards marriage]. It's not out of disrespect; it's more respect. It's, 'I'm going to come to you as honestly as possible.' "

He added, "This is who I am; this is what I struggle with, this is where I feel like I excel. If we can coexist, you're responsible for your happiness. If I can add to it, I'm here. I shouldn't be here if I don't add to it."

While he reminisced on his past marriage, he shared that it was one of the best experiences of his life.

"That to me was one of the greatest experiences of my life, and for that to come to an end, why would I go back if I couldn't make that work out right?"

He continued, "Once I gave my all to a scenario, going forward, I'd have to be presented with something I've never seen before to return to something like that. I did my best in this space, and now I feel like there's a new journey in my life. I'm not going to backtrack and put myself in that situation again because it doesn't get better than that."

The actor and comedian revealed on the "Lip Service" podcast that he might have more kids this year.

In response to the speculation about having three kids on the way, Canon replied jokingly, "When you say 'on the way...' What count are you at? Let's just put it this way... the stork is on the way."

When asked if he was expecting more children, he replied thus, "I don't know; it could be."
