Jack and Kristina Wagner have laid their beloved son, Harrison Wagner to rest. The late Harrison tragically passed earlier this month after his body was found in a parking lot.
It's been a trying time for the Wagner family, but Jack and Kristina have had the presence of their "General Hospital" co-stars to comfort them during this difficult period.
'General Hospital' Stars In Attendance During Harrison's Funeral
During an appearance at the 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, cast members of "General Hospital" spoke about how they have shown the Wagners an outpouring of support.
Kelly Thiebaud, who plays the role of Dr. Britt Westbourne told Entertainment Tonight that the "GH" family attended the funeral. Although she didn't spill details of the burial, her co-star Nancy Lee Grahn mentioned that she had been in contact with Kristina since the tragic event.
Grahn opened up about how Kristina has been faring, saying, "She is remarkably strong and she's an exemplary mother. It was very challenging to have a son that has an addiction. That is a disease. They both handle it very well, but Kristina I admire her very much and she’s doing really well, under the circumstances. Very strong."
Kelly Monaco, who plays the role of Sam McCall, told the publication that she could relate to Jack and Kristina's pain following a tragedy she suffered last year.
"I had a similar experience in November with my best friend and the GH cast was amazing," Monaco recalled. "It's a family, and the same grace has been extended to Kristina and Jack. I have chills talking about it. My heart goes out to them because I know exactly what they're feeling. It's tragic."
Of course, Jack and Kristina are still taking time to grieve so they are yet to return to work, but their co-stars have promised that they "will be there with open arms."
Jack & Kristina Wagner’s Son Died From Addiction
As previously reported, Harrison was pronounced dead after his body was found on June 6 in a parking lot in the North Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles around 5 am.
Authorities declared that there was no foul play involved in his death, with the Los Angeles County coroner’s office announcing that Harrison's cause of death required more investigation.
However, Jack and Kristina later broke the news that their youngest son died from his battle with addiction. Harrison was only 27 years old.
The heartbroken parents shared the devastating news in an obituary post shared on the New House Life Recovery community's website and announced that they were starting the Harrison Wagner Scholarship Fund in honor of their late son.
Jack and Kristina wrote, "Harrison was a bright, exuberant young man whose smile lit up any room he was in. He has left behind many men and family members who loved him deeply."
Sharing the cause of his death, they continued, "We are heartbroken that he ultimately lost his battle with addiction and we hope that Harrison’s memory will live on through this scholarship and will help other young men get help for their addiction that would not otherwise be able to afford it."
The Wagners noted that all funds donated to the scholarship would be used to pay either part or the full rent for young men who can’t afford their care at New Life House.
Tributes Pour In From Family Members
Harrison's brother and girlfriend have also spoken up about his heartbreaking demise. The deceased's older brother Peter Wagner uploaded several heartwarming throwback photos from their childhood alongside a touching message that read, "Always with you."
Harrison's girlfriend Sophia Bui also paid a heartfelt tribute to her late boyfriend, writing, "Here’s a love letter to babe. I’m so broken-hearted. We had plans this Friday and you called to apologize. Seven years, on and off, round and round, we loved each other. For better or for worse. In sickness and in health. Sorry, I missed yr calls in the midst of the night these last few days.”
She got candid about how she missed their cuddles and exchange of silly videos. "I was never alone in this world with you. You were the balm that soothed my soul. You were my guy. I hope I was that comfort for you. I will always be yr baby, babe. I will always choose to love you in this world and in any other life. 💔💔💔💔💔💔@harrisonwagner," she concluded.
