The promising Jack Harlow and veteran entertainer Brandy are both prominent music industry stars who have received many much-deserved accolades.
The duo recently made a mind-blowing live performance of Brandy's remix to Harlow's "First Class" at the 2022 BET Awards following their amusing online dispute earlier in May.
Jack Harlow And Brandy Make A Surprise Performance Of 'First Class' Remix At BET Awards
As PEOPLE reported, the former hitmaker of the year opened his BET Awards performance with "Poison" and surprised the audience with an appearance from Brandy on stage to duet her remix.
Their performance came after the Grammy winner debuted the music piece on Hot 97's "Ebro in the Morning," in response to Harlow's viral video about not knowing Brandy was Ray J's sister or her music piece "Angel in Disguise."
She could be heard rapping, "Allow me to reintroduce myself / My name is world-famous, one of the greatest/ Living legend, did I mention my résumé is amazing?"
The 43-year-old AMA recipient added, "The game need a breath of fresh air, and I'm breathtaking / I went diamond / Guess I'm still a gold mine shining."
Her following verses at the BET ceremony showed her representing "black excellence at its finest" and acknowledging her brother's glasses while also calling herself a "singer slash rapper slash actress."
She concluded her heated verse with, "I'm reachin' for the crown, you might get a handful of thorns / Or maybe you just wanna be down."
In May, Hot 97's radio presenters Ebro Darden, Peter Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez tested Harlow's musical prowess during an interview by playing songs and asking him to name the titles and singers.
As the interview progressed, the 24-year-old rapper could name a few songs from White Stripes, Fergie, and Metallica but was challenged with some R&B and hip-hop music from the 1990s and early 2000s.
According to The Blast, when Darden played Brandy's "Angel in Disguise," Harlow had no idea about the song even with the clues provided.
Stylez hinted that the music's owner starred on a TV show, while Rosenberg added that her brother was the "reason why a lot of people are famous," referring to Ray J's sex tape with Kim Kardashian.
Harlow remained clueless as he did not know at the time that Brandy was Ray J's sister. So, the radio hosts ultimately revealed the answer and chalked his ignorance up to his age.
When asked again if he knew about the siblings, the "What's Poppin" star maintained that no one ever told him in his life about the twosome. He also noted that the hosts "got a good clip off that one."
Rosenberg stated that the information was random, and Harlow was not born during Brandy's reign in '95.
As for the interview's clip, it indeed went viral in no time and gained a playful response from the "Moesha" actress showing that she would "murk" Harlow up "on his own beats and sing his ass to sleep."
The "Angel In Disguise" Star Debuts' First Class' Rendition After Radio Interview
Following the interview and Brandy's response, the Mississippi-born businesswoman implemented her promise of ‘murking’ as she remixed Harlow's "First Class" on Hot 97's "Ebro in the Morning."
The Blast shared that she debuted the epic music piece on the same radio program that started the playful dispute, voicing her achievements and boasting about her legacy.
She also smartly added Harlow's first name in one of the verses by calling herself the "Jack" of all trades who was "here jacking for beats."
The comeback rap song also included her thoughts on the cancellation of ABC's "Queens," in which she starred. She stated that she was still a true queen even without the production.
As the track went on, Brandy said she remained a hot topic for over two decades, and at 43, she still had the feeling of being a child watched by numerous people.
She further added a witty jab at Harlow using his song "What's Poppin" by declaring that she was "popping s**t for those out of pocket and saying she should be called "Your Highness" not Brandy.
Her playful diss track was loved by many who gushed about her rap skills, evident in how she seemed to have "outrapped" the song's owner.
Several fans noted that her remix was better than the original version, while others believed Harlow did not stand a chance against Brandy.
