While the rest of the world advanced as the model of Apple's iPhones evolved, Chris Evans stayed behind with his beloved iPhone 6s, well, until he couldn't anymore.

Apple launched the iPhone 6s and its counterpart 6s Plus in 2015, its first phones to support LTE-advanced networks and feature the new 3D Touch display.

Since then, the multinational technology company has released about 20 new models of its mobile phone, but Captain America wasn't bothered to switch his phone.

Alongside the image, the Hollywood star wrote, "RIP iPhone 6s. We had a good run. I’ll miss your home button." True to his humorous nature, Evans poked fun at all the things that were wrong with the 2015 device.

"I won’t miss the nightly battle of trying to get you to charge. Or your grainy pictures. Or your sudden drops from 100% battery, to 15%, to completely dead all within minutes," he wrote.

The Marvel star concluded his hilarious caption, "It was a wild ride. Rest easy, pal #tilthewheelsfalloff."

The extremely amusing post has received over 2 million likes and several comments from fans and colleagues mocking the "Avengers: Endgame" actor for still holding on to an iPhone 6s.

Kate Beckinsale added, "Not the grainy pictures," while Katherine Langford commented, "That's commitment."

Actress Octavia Spencer could however relate to Evans' plight as she wrote, "OMG! I just gave up my home button last week. Transitioning to the 13 has been easier than I thought. So…. #IFeelYouBuddy."

Many Hollywood stars had a bone to pick with Evans playing the lead voiceover role in the Buzz Lightyear origin story instead of Tim Allen who has voiced the legendary toy astronaut Buzz Lightyear in the famous "Toy Story" franchise.

Actress Patricia Heaton was one of the stars who voiced her disappointment at Evans' casting. She wrote in a tweet, "Saw the trailer for Buzz Lightyear and all I can say is Disney/Pixar made a HUGE mistake in not casting my pal @ofctimallen."

She continued, "Tim Allen in the role that he originated, the role that he owns. Tim IS Buzz! Why would they completely castrate this iconic, beloved character?"

When fans tried to explain to the "Everybody Loves Raymond" star that the origin story was about how the toy came to be and different from what Allen had played over the years, Heaton doubled down on her opinion.

The "Carol's Second Act" star wrote in a follow-up post, "Ok so the current Buzz Lightyear movie is an origin story 0- but the reason the character became so beloved is because of what Tim Allen created. Why remove the one element that makes us want to see it? #stupidHollywooddecisions.

The 'Knives Out' Star Has Nothing But Admiration For Tim Allen

Despite the intense backlash over the casting choice for "Lightyear," Evans has remained gracious in how he has approached the topic of him seemingly replacing Allen.

As The Blast reported, during an interview, the Massachusetts native opened up about how he had to bury himself deep in studying all of Allen's work before agreeing to take on the role of Buzz Lightyear.

Playing tribute to Allen, Evans said, "Look, Tim Allen is Buzz Lightyear. What he did in those movies is so iconic and loved, and I’d be a fool not to incorporate some of his choices into this role."

The 41-year-old then expatiated on the difference between his character and Allen's saying, "The character in this movie is the human version that the toy is based off of, so it makes sense to have a little bit of overlap, luckily for me. What Tim Allen did was pretty untouchable."

Executives of "Lightyear" have also defended the choice to cast Evans in a statement, "In this film, Buzz is the action hero. He’s serious and ambitious and funny, but not in a goofy way that would undercut the drama. Chris Evans has the gravitas and that movie-star quality that our character needed to separate him and the movie from Tim’s version of the toy in 'Toy Story'"
