Actress Anna Faris recently revealed that life was pretty tough for her after her first divorce.
The "Scary Movie" star was married to Ben Indra from 2004 to 2008 before she married "Jurassic World" actor Chris Pratt in 2009. She and the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star stayed together until 2018 and share a 9-year-old son named Jack.
"The House Bunny" actress, 45, appeared on the Thursday episode of Chelsea Handler's Dear Chelsea podcast to talk about her first divorce, which was transcribed by PEOPLE.
Anna Faris Opens Up On Life Following Divorce From Ben Indra
Although the "22 Jump Street" actress described herself as a "divorce veteran," she and cinematographer Michael Barrett actually eloped last July.
"I'm like a divorce veteran because I've been divorced twice," Anna told Chelsea earlier this week. "It hit hard the first time. I turned into somebody that I didn't recognize."
Anna explained that she "was always the kind of person that had their fridge filled. And I hosted a lot of dinners. That was back when I had friends."
However, that all changed after she got divorced.
"I found myself in this apartment with just beer and mustard in the fridge," she recalled. "I was going out all the time. I had no one to text or call and say, 'Hey, can I do this?' essentially."
Faris Found Her First Divorce 'Incredibly Liberating'
Although the "Brokeback Mountain" actress admitted that she didn't have much in her fridge, she also stated that it was an "incredibly liberating" time for her, adding that she had "reverted" back to her 17-year-old self in some ways
She teased, "I went to a bar, I was like, 'Look how dangerous I am.' "
At the same time, "The Dictator" actress confessed that she was "terrified" that she was the reason that the marriage had ended.
"I was terrified that I wasn't a good lover," Anna recalled as she opened up on her insecurities. "Especially when I was younger, I was so self-conscious of my body. I didn't want anybody to see it."
"But I would dance on the edges of it," she continued. "I wanted to be desired desperately."
Now that she has been married a third time, the "Movie 43" actress admitted that it's easier to show herself self-love.
"This time, it has been easier for me to accept a lot of love," she said, although she confessed, "I still kind of struggle with it."
"When I was younger, if there was a lot of love — I must've subconsciously liked a chase ... It feels healthier, though, whatever it is," she added. "It feels like I can be loved."
Anna Faris Hinted That She Should Have Called Off A Past Engagement
In May 2021, shortly before she got married for a third time, Anna reflected on her two prior divorces on her "Anna Faris is Unqualified" podcast and explained that she sees them differently than when they happened.
"For me, I think after every breakup, at some point I realize that there were a lot of things I ignored that I really shouldn't have," Anna recalled. "In hindsight, it felt like my hand was forced. I don't think it was ever an independent decision."
Faris also answered a caller on her podcast who talking about ending her engagement before the wedding, leading Anna to hint that she felt she should've done the same.
"I really feel like calling off an engagement is a smarter, stronger, braver move than what I did," Anna responded. "Which was like, well, I guess everyone is expecting this, so let's just go through with it."
Many fans are hoping that the third time's the charm!
