Singer Dolly Parton is 76 years old and she’s still glowing!
The singer, songwriter, actress, philanthropist, businesswoman, and entrepreneur has a lot on her plate and is showing no signs of slowing down. It leads many fans to wonder if the “9 to 5” singer ever has time to get some shut-eye.
Well, as it turns out, the “Jolene” singer is an early to bed, early to rise kind of person. In fact, she wakes up at 3 AM every day!
Dolly Parton Reveals Her Secret To Success: Waking Up WAY Early In The Morning!
The Dollywood founder revealed her secrets of success to the Wall Street Journal and told the magazine that she’s “usually up around 3 in the morning.”
“I just love the wee hours,” she gushed. “I actually go to bed early. I go by the old saying, 'Early to bed, early to rise.' But even when I'm working late on shows and concerts, I can wake up early. I just don't require a lot of sleep.”
In fact, Dolly revealed that she only needs about five or six hours of sleep per night… “and I can motivate if I need to on three hours.”
Dolly continued, “I pray every day that God will put all the right things, all the right people in my life, and take all the wrong things, all the wrong people out, and guide me. Then I figure out what I want to wear and what I want to accomplish… and I have my cup of ambition.”
Her cup of ambition is Folgers coffee. Dolly said, “I like quite a bit of cream, so it's just a little more than tan. A cup and a half will do me all day.”
She likes to keep breakfast simple too. Dolly revealed, “I usually try to keep some homemade egg salad around because I like to have something quick and easy. Through the week I'll eat things like egg salad on toast with tomato, and sometimes I'll have a bagel with cream cheese, cucumbers, and tomatoes.”
Dolly Parton Has A Special Secret To Scrambled Eggs
Speaking of breakfast, Dolly has a secret special scrambled egg hack that actually isn’t so secret since she shared it with Insider.
She revealed that she and her husband Carl love cooking eggs on weekends. Even though they’ll occasionally partake in French Toast or Biscuits and Gravy, scrambled eggs are something that she turns to on the regular.
Although many celebrity chefs have touted Irish butter, or a kind of salt, or using cheese, Dolly Parton has an ingenious – and free – hack to making the perfect scrambled egg: ice water.
Dolly revealed that someone told her once that if you sprinkle a bit of ice water in a pan while you cook eggs, it will fluff them up for you. She said that she’s been using the trick ever since she learned it and swears that it really does work.
Perhaps Dolly needs to open her own restaurant now? She may not be opening her own Café, but she does have her own baking line!

In a press release, Dolly said, “I have always loved to cook and, growing up in the South, I especially love that authentic Mom and Pop kind of cooking.”
“Baking was no different,” she continued. “I had plenty of people to show me what's what in the kitchen... my Mama, my grandmothers, and my aunts were all wonderful bakers.”
“They taught me everything I know, from biscuits and gravy to chocolate cake,” she went on. “Now I am proud to share some of those favorites with all of you.”
“I am excited to launch my own line of cake mixes and frostings with Duncan Hines, bringing that sweet, Southern-style baking experience I enjoy to others,” she added.
