Miles Teller Had A Strange Allergic Reaction... To Jet Fuel In His Blood!
In an appearance on "Late Night With Seth Meyers" earlier this week, Teller revealed that he had jet fuel in his bloodstream after he started breaking out in hives while filming.
"We landed, and I'm just like, 'Man, I'm not feeling too good,'" Teller recalled. "I was really hot and I just started itching like crazy. So I get out of the jet and I'm just covered in hives — like, head to toe."
The "Whiplash" actor said he took an oatmeal bath to try to calm his skin before heading to the doctor for a blood test. "My bloodwork comes back and I have flame retardant, pesticides, and jet fuel in my blood," he revealed.
Although most people would be concerned, Teller said that it didn't bother him. In fact, he said it was "actually kind of cool" after it felt better. When he returned to the set, he said that Tom Cruise asked him about his blood test results.
"I was like, 'Well, Tom, it turns out I have jet fuel in my blood,'" Teller recalled. "Without even skipping a beat, Tom just goes, 'Yeah, I was born with it, kid.'"
Teller and Cruise starred together in 2022's "Top Gun: Maverick," the sequel to the 1986 "Top Gun" original. The movie sees Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell return to train Naval Fighter Weapons School to train graduates for a special assignment, although he is still haunted by his past. One of the graduates that Cruise's character is training is Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw, the son of Maverick's best friend that passed away in the first film: Nick 'Goose' Bradshaw, played by Anthony Edwards.
Val Kilmer also returned to reprise his role as Lieutenant Tom 'Iceman' Kazansky. The sequel was directed by Joseph Kosinski and also starred "Snowpiercer" actress Jennifer Connelly, Glen Powell, Monica Barbaro, Ed Harris, Jon Hamm, and Jay Ellis.
Miles Teller Has Been Making Headlines For An Entirely Different Reason!
Recently, Miles Teller has been making headlines with his recent thirst trap TikTok videos posted by his wife, Keleigh Sperry. The two had been dating for four years before Teller popped the question in August 2017. The couple finally tied the knot in 2019, right before the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.
The “War Dogs” actor told E! News on Tuesday that he wanted to use TikTok to help promote his new film. However, he doesn't use social media, which led to his wife posting "fun" videos like the one above.
“I have Twitter,” Teller explained. “I mainly use it for, like, news sources every once in a while to tweet something out. But I mostly use it as a consumer, not so much as a platform.”
As for TikTok, he said, “My wife’s just been having fun with it because, obviously, she loves me more than anybody.”
Of course, all the promotional material seems to be working. The "Top Gun" sequel is Cruise's biggest film to date. The movie took home $160.5 million dollars over Memorial Day weekend when it was released.
Since then, it has continued to dominate the box office... while Miles Teller continues to dominate TikTok.
Teller's new movie "Spiderhead," in which he stars alongside Chris Hemsworth and Jurnee Smollett, hit Netflix on Friday, June 17.
