It looks like Chris Evans would like to trade his Captain America shield for a lightsaber.
Marvel and Star Wars are both owned by Disney, so it doesn’t seem like it would be too much of a jump to trade the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a galaxy far, far away. After all, he’s also appearing in the new Disney animated film “Lightyear.”

When asked by MTV if he would eventually complete his Disney trifecta by appearing in a Star Wars project, the actor’s response was nothing short of enthusiastic.

“Yeah, why is there no Star Wars?” Evans asked. “God, would I love to be in Star Wars.”
“God – I mean I would do anything,” he continued. “If I was just a Stormtrooper, I’d be thrilled.” He later added, “Yeah, I’ll take a Wookie though. That’s fine. Just put me in. I’ll do it.”
Considering that even James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, got to appear as a Stormtrooper in the first film of the sequel trilogy – 2015’s “The Force Awakens” – it should definitely be possible to squeeze Evans into a Stormtrooper suit.
Although Stormtroopers recently made a comeback for the Disney+ series “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” the Mandoverse has taken center stage with “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett.” Season 3 of “The Mandalorian,” which will hit Disney+ in early 2023, is rumored to feature a lot more Mandalorians. We’re sure Chris Evans would have no trouble fitting into that armor!
Would Chris Evans Join A ‘Star Wars’ Movie?
It’s possible that Evans might be more interested in joining a Star Wars movie than a Disney+ series. The only problem with that is the lack of Star Wars movies in development.
The last Star Wars film released in theaters was 2019’s “The Rise of Skywalker.” Patty Jenkins has been working on a movie called “Rogue Squadron” but it’s been put on the backburner to allow her to focus on the third movie in the “Wonder Woman” trilogy. “Rogue Squadron” was originally rumored to be released in December 2023, but without a cast or a complete script, it’s possible that the movie won’t come out to at least 2025.

Marvel director Taika Waititi has also been working on his own Star Wars film; however, not much has been disclosed about that project yet.
Instead, Lucasfilm has taken the time to focus on a multitude of TV shows set in the Star Wars universe. “The Mandalorian” was the first to arrive on the fledgling Disney+ streaming service and helped to renew interest in the franchise.

After season 2 of “The Mandalorian” came “The Book of Boba Fett.” Although there were only seven episodes in the spin-off, episodes five and six focused heavily on the return of The Mandalorian and his eventual reconciliation with Baby Yoda AKA Grogu AKA The Child. As a result, many fans felt that the show served as a bridge between the second and third seasons of “The Mandalorian.”

On Wednesday, “Obi-Wan Kenobi” will wrap up its six-episode limited run. The possibility of a second season has been floated, but fan reaction to the show has been largely negative, and Lucasfilm seems focused on exploring new stories with new characters.

Although fan-favorite characters like “Andor” and “Ahsoka” will be getting their own Disney+ series coming both later this year and in 2023, respectively, “The Acolyte” will explore a new era of the Star Wars universe that has never been explored in film or television before.

And, at the annual Star Wars Celebration fan event, Lucasfilm announced that Jude Law would be starring in an original Star Wars series known as “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.”
So although Star Wars fans may have to wait a while to see the galaxy far, far away again on a big screen, there is plenty of room for Chris Evans on Disney+.
