Paul McCartney Thanks 'Beatles' Fans For Birthday Wishes As He Turns 80!

The legendary Paul McCartney just turned 80!

Sir James Paul McCartney was born on June 18, 1942, in Walton, Liverpool, United Kingdom. It goes without saying that the singer, songwriter, and musician rose to fame as the co-lead vocalist, co-songwriter, and the bassist for The Beatles.

On Saturday, plenty of fans flocked to social media to celebrate his milestone 80th birthday!

One fan tweeted, "happy 80th birthday sir paul mccartney! you have inspired me and many others through your music and through the years you've never stopped sharing your talents with us, thank you so so much. i wish you good health and all the best in life. may you have more birthdays to come 🎂 "

"Happy 80st birthday, Paul McCartney !! 🤍" another fan tweeted. "May you feel happy, loved & appreciated. Wishing you a happy trails and good health. I have no words to describe how much you mean to me, i hope your day is filled with brightness and love. I love you forever and ever."

"Today’s planet-wide birthday shouts for @PaulMcCartney are richly merited," another fan commented. Even the Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Anton Gerashchenko, took a moment to celebrate Paul's birthday, pointing out that he "switched Ukrainian flag for a guitar painted in Ukrainian colors to make sure his position of support to Ukraine is even more apparent."

He added, "Thank you, Sir, for your true friendship!"

Shortly after noon, Paul himself took to social media to thank his followers for the birthday wishes. "Thanks for all the lovely greetings and warm wishes for my birthday," Paul wrote alongside a snap of him sitting against the back of a car.

The Beatles Twitter account also wished him a happy birthday and released a lookback at his life and record-breaking songs in a two-minute video.

Music producer also wished him a happy birthday, adding, "you have been a mentor, guide, friend, collaborator and a fine maker of fine bagels and tea. I love you. For all my life you have been nothing but kind and brilliant xxx"
