On Saturday morning, actress Daisy Ridley told her Instagram followers that she had finally finished filming her new Disney movie.

Ridley first rose to fame playing the Jakku orphan Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy starting with 2015's "The Force Awakens." She reprised her role for the two follow-up movies - 2017's "The Last Jedi" and 2019's "The Rise of Skywalker - which wrapped up the nine-episode Skywalker Saga that began with "A New Hope" in 1977.

Although the sequel trilogy wasn't well-received by Star Wars fans, it did thurst Ridley into the spotlight. She has since starred in several films, including "The Murder on the Orient Express" and "Chaos Walking" opposite Tom Holland.

Earlier this year, Ridley returned to Instagram after a six-year hiatus from social media, where she posted behind-the-scenes snaps from her latest movie, "Young Woman and the Sea."

Daisy Ridley Reveals 'Young Woman and the Sea' Has Finally Wrapped Filming

It seems that fans of Ridley are about to see if she's as good a swimmer as she is wielding a lightsaber.

"And that’s a wrap!" Ridley captioned a series of snaps documenting her last date on set. "Last day on set for Young Woman and the Sea. It has been tough, but worthwhile, and I think we have made a film to be proud of. So grateful for #TeamTrudy ♥️"

The movie "Young Woman and the Sea" tells the story of Gertrude "Trudy" Ederle and is based on the novel of the same name by Glenn Stout.

In 1926, Gertrude became the first woman to ever swim across the English Channel. Ederle was the daughter of a German butcher from Manhattan who became a competitive swimmer that won the gold medal in the 1924 Olympic Games. Ederle first swam 22 miles from Battery Park, New York to Sandy Hook, New Jersey, and set an 81-year record before she eventually attempted to cross the English Channel.

Four days ago, she posted a behind-the-scenes video of her preparing for a scene and warming up before hitting the water.

“BTS from Young Woman and the Sea. I’d like to think this is how Trudy warmed up before each swim,” she captioned the video, adding, “Moral support by THE John Scotti and swimming coach extraordinaire (and casual Olympian) @siobhanmoconnor95”

The screenplay was adapted by Jeff Nathanson. Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman are signed on as producers. The film also stars the Ninth reincarnation of the Doctor in "Doctor Who" Chris Eccleston, as well as Tilda Cobham-Hervey and Stephen Graham. The film was directed by Joachim Rønning.

Daisy Had To Do A Lot Of Physical Training For Her New Role

In late April, the “Zoetrope” actress teased “A little midweek torture c/o @mattbevan_, who somehow manages to turn 20 seconds into 40 ?” as she worked on strengthening her core.

About a week later, she revealed that she was doing a lot of research for her new role by reading up on the history of Gertrude's life story.

The third slide shows a headline that reads “Girl Athletes Headed For Sex Extinction Says Scientist.” The fourth slide shows women at a protest holding up various signs. One sign says, “Women Athletes Are Not Good Mothers.” Another sign says, “Women Athletes Will Learn How To Cook And Sew.”

“That last slide is full of so much jealousy and internalized misogyny it hurts,” another fan wrote.
